there is a gallery with loads of paper ephermea and books dealing with african art , most of it contemparary, near the british musuem, but i dont remember exactly where

Librairie du Maghreb, adjacent to the east end of Woburn Passage in WC1, always looks like it has a decent selection. And yes, look around the streets to the south of the BM.
