High lights and going back darker at home.

I get my hair high lighted at the salon and now I want to go back closer to my natural hair color (dark brown) my hair is a goldent blonde right now.
Can I color my hair at home? Im worried about hurting my hair, does it matter that the salon used foil* while highlighting my hair?
Will it make my hair worse? Should I get it done at the salon?

I had no idea this would be about hair stuff. I read the thread title as something else and expected either random nonsense or a drunkenly poetic idea. Something about daylight savings time and returning home later in the day and it still getting darker. The contrast to the high lights of the workaday world, etc, etc.

(okay, I am listening to music that the Great Internet Dataknowledgebase has categorized as "st0ner r0ck" - it is AWESOME and possibly THREAD CHANGING. Definitely LIFE CHANGING.)

I, too, thought it would be a poetic thread about daylight savings.

Save the daylight! It is precious. Though not that precious, as it has been waking up earlier and earlier. I shall have to purchase curtain rods to keep it out. But then will the Save The Daylight Protestors aim mirrors at my flat?
