Context is everything. 'Naughty' when applied to desserts, 'panties' when voiced by American men, 'leccy' and any other diminuitization of essential public services (unless voiced by Liverpudlians in which case it sounds like half an old Brookie script and is therefore OK), 'serviette', or 'reforms' and 'choice' from the mouth of a UK Government official, whenever. 'Romp' for sex in tabloids but not for dumb caper comedies from the '60s with an all-star cast including Capucine. Also the announcement of prices in plurals of hundreds of pounds being 'five-nine-nine pound'.
