xhuxkeddyneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:15 (twenty years ago)

ok, I don't think I'm really going to see Bon Jovi

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:18 (twenty years ago)

and why not?

Allyzay Rofflesbot (allyzay), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:50 (twenty years ago)

I am going to the Bar Review Class Concert, followed by the Bar Exam Concert, followed by the Sleep for Week Concert.

Music? These typically take money. Fuck.

Big Loud Mountain Ape (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:52 (twenty years ago)

And that was the absolute worst post I've ever done. Mah bad, guys.

I miss summer concerts. I used to go to so many. I did see Etta James last weekend. That was awesome.

Bitter Andy (Big Loud Mountain Ape), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:53 (twenty years ago)

and why not?

Entropy

I am going to the Bar Review Class Concert, followed by the Bar Exam Concert, followed by the Sleep for Week Concert.

I have been to those concerts! They suuuuuck. No actually, they're not all that bad. But Monastic Bar Review Preparation Concert with opener Number 2 Pencil is pretty bad.

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 20:55 (twenty years ago)

Radiohead x10 next month, maybe a few more times in June/July.

I realized recently that all those years of being underage and wanting see 21+ shows in Chicago conditioned me to not even check out who's playing in Chicago.

I should change that.

Melissa W (Melissa W), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 21:13 (twenty years ago)

and why not?

oh wait, there's a real answer to that - "Special Guest: Nickelback"

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 21:27 (twenty years ago)

Renard (Renard), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 21:44 (twenty years ago)

(Although I'm working there for 9:30 Club so is acceptable)

uptoeleven (uptoeleven), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 23:35 (twenty years ago)

Although it's not summer yet so maybe that doesn't count. But Sasquatch at the end of may probably does.

uptoeleven (uptoeleven), Wednesday, 19 April 2006 23:37 (twenty years ago)

Fairmount Girls

I'm thinking about Nine Inch Nails & Bauhaus, but I'm not really too excited by that idea. I saw Bauhaus a few years ago, and it was a bit of a letdown - but I've heard that they're sounding good these days?

I see nothing else coming to town.... sucky schedule so far.

dog latin (dog latin), Thursday, 20 April 2006 08:49 (twenty years ago)

come to America in August, jel!

speaking of Bon Jovi, that You Can't Go Home song...
a) it's the best thing they've written in ages, right? ever?
b) is the chick the singer of Sugarland?
c) did he get the idea from Kerry's "You can't go home again" quote in his acceptance speech?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 20 April 2006 14:45 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, it's a great song! Not sure what Sugarland is mind.

Oh man, the idea of conquering my fear of flying to see Poison appeals! It would make for a great documentary film, way better than anything that lamer M0rg@n Spur10ck could come up with. He really kinda annoys me, it was that minimum wage thing he did, where he was moaning about hurting his wrists and going to hospital every other day, I know he was making an importnat point, but really. Anyway, I digress.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 20 April 2006 15:33 (twenty years ago)

it's not summer yet but matmos for free at the whitney in early may = awesome.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 20 April 2006 15:35 (twenty years ago)

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 20 April 2006 15:37 (twenty years ago)

Renard (Renard), Thursday, 20 April 2006 15:39 (twenty years ago)

yeah, but akufen isn't as big a name, no?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 20 April 2006 15:40 (twenty years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:24 (twenty years ago)

Bryan, is your visit coinciding w/ACL fest? That might make accomdations harder. I could come up with some ideas for you, mail me what's 'affordable' and what's imp. in terms of location.

Has anyone ever been to ACL fest? I've only heard bad things about the experience but want to take my brother to see Gnarls Barkley for his birthday. don't want to buy that damn 3-day pass though.

Miss Misery xox (MissMiseryTX), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:35 (twenty years ago)

nice, thanks gabbneb. but where is rockefeller park?

Nope, ACL Fest is a little over a month later (we actually thought about going to that instead but that'll be during a busy work time for me). I'll email you this afternoon, Sam.

I'm also going to be out east during the second week of September and if there's something fun going on I might check it out.

Bryan (Bryan), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:41 (twenty years ago)
