when people say 'hey whats going on with you' what do you say?

i kinda hate that question, maybe jus cos i dont much like my job at the moment and thats pretty much all i seem to be doing lately, but fact is, there just is not much is going on with me in my life at the moment

or is it just a polite question, where youre just meant to say nothing of real importance?

I say "this and that... can't complain" and other platitudes or launch into "a funny thing happened on the weekend..." Unless I know the other person well and then I can complain, and do so.
