TRENTON -- Lowering the 65 mph speed limit, incentives to reduce the use of personal cars and allowing self-service gas stations are on Gov. Jon S. Corzine's agenda to respond to recent spikes in gasoline prices.
On Thursday, Corzine announced his plan to conserve gas and protect consumers in the wake of gas prices that, according to AAA, have risen nearly 80 cents this year to a statewide average of $2.87 for regular unleaded.
Corzine's administration is examining whether to reduce the 65-mph speed limit to 55 mph to conserve gas, but the governor said, "I think there's some dispute about the effectiveness of that."

the toll booths all over the place on the parkway does more to keep you from flooring it on that road ... and wastes more gas (b/c you have to stop like every 15 minutes to pay the fucking tolls).
(b/w this, cutting $$ to state universities, and foisting that dirtbag menendez into the senate, i'm beginning to really dislike corzine.)
