Home Truths (BBC Radio 4) has gone right downhill since John Peel died. Discuss.

Also - what other radio programmes have suffered from a change of presenter, and why?

I can't imagine Just A Minute or I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue being presented by people other than N Parsons or H Lyttleton either. I much preferred Roy Plomley on DID. Why though is more difficult to answer. I never really liked Home Truths.

I did like Home Truths but had to stop listening to it immediately when Peely died, so can't comment on whether there has been any going downhill since then.

this probably makes me some kind of rockist, but i felt that home truths went badly downhill shortly after it stopped being called offspring and moved from saturday evenings to the mornings. i stopped listening regularly shortly afterwards.

i see that offspring ran from 95-97, which seems about right. somehow it felt like it had exhausted its subject by the end, and i can't imagine that another 8 years of home truths didn't get a little repetitive.
