hi

any pc guru's here?

on xp sp2 on ibm x32 laptop if i try and run more than one usb device that requires external power supply at the same time windows doesnt like it (have tried on my other laptop and same issue) I have usb 2.0 ports

I can run multiple devices (mouse, webcam, small 4gb usb drive etc) either on multiple usb ports or even through the same port on usb hub

but if i try and connect external cd burner and large hd that requires power, you cant run both devices, device fails

is there a setting in the power options that needs to be changed??? or any idea's? anyone have same issue?

thanks

your laptop's power manager probably doesn't want to take that much power from the internal hardware. this is definitely a question that would be better served by google, however.
