hello everyone - so there was a power outage in LA yesterday. unfortunately it directly hit the data center where myspace's servers are located. lots of people were affected and that's why myspace has been screwy since yesterday afternoon. we are still working to get everything back in order. i know what most of the problems are, it's just giong to take awhile to fix them. thx for your patience!

I was up in LA all of yesterday and never noticed a power outage so whatever.

Tiki Theater Xymposium (Bent Over at the Arclight), Monday, 24 July 2006 05:03 (nineteen years ago)

Dan, why would you take a tour of Vassar? It's in Poughkeepsie! I know, I can't talk about being 'nowhere,' but at least my nowhere has nice skies and a vomitously quaint town. Poughkeepsie is a landfill of death. Continuing with the thread:

48. Find all of the hydrants that the water department is 'leaking' for the night. Play in the water while people in cars swerve to avoid you. (This is awesomely awesome).

Donald Trump Also Sucks, Of Course (milo z), Monday, 17 August 2020 03:37 (five years ago)

This past evening I was peacefully sitting in bed watching Columbo when I heard a massive, house-rattling crash outside that sounded like something falling, followed by an explosion, and the power went out. My first thought was a bomb; my second thought was that a helicopter had crashed in my neighborhood. Eventually figured out it was lightning. People all over Seattle, including West Seattle and as far north as Ballard, heard this extraordinarily loud clap of thunder and were on Twitter talking about it, but only my house and four others lost power, so it must have been practically on top of us. No wonder it sounded like a bomb.

So now it's three in the morning, power has just been restored, and my air conditioner kicked on again, waking me up.

Lily Dale, Monday, 17 August 2020 10:38 (five years ago)

Might have also heard some transformers blowing

solo scampito (mh), Monday, 17 August 2020 16:53 (five years ago)

yeah I heard more + louder thunder booms here in NorCal and was hoping it was North Korea or something :/

brimstead, Monday, 17 August 2020 17:07 (five years ago)

brimstead, Monday, 17 August 2020 17:11 (five years ago)

Just lost my power - heard some crazy sound outside, maybe a transformer blowing up
