LeBlanc Goes It Alone in Divorce Court

Joey star Matt LeBlanc is set to show off his legal skills when he hits the divorce court with his estranged wife Melissa - he's planning to represent himself. In divorce papers obtained by website Tmz.com, the actor makes it clear he feels he can win the battle without a high-powered attorney. Sources claim LeBlanc is confident the divorce trial will be a speedy and simple affair because he and his ex signed a prenuptial agreement and have already agreed on joint custody for their two-year-old daughter. That hasn't stopped the soon-to-be former Mrs. LeBlanc hiring a lawyer - she will be represented in court. Tmz.com suggests LeBlanc feels confident about his divorce court skills after taking advice from top celebrity lawyer Neal Hersh this summer.

A bit like Joey.

From that first line, I thought LeBlanc was set to star in an innovative new show called Divorce Court in which he plays all the characters, Eddie Murphy-style.

that would be hilariously bad.
let's at least see a pilot, though.

It's like having a manager. The star can go round being nice to people, and the manager can go round saying No on his behalf.

Cross examining your ex-wife can only look bad for him.

Unless it's as 'easy and amicable' as the story is sort of making out.

So, this new show "Episodes" is pretty funny. The English writer couple is VERY funny.

Anyone else watching it?

It's okay, but nothing more, which is disappointing.

Also more discussion here - Rolling UK Comedy Thread - "Ricky Don't Lose Larry David's Number
It's truly got transatlantic (non)appeal.

The English writer couple is VERY funny.

The actors who play them are kind of overexposed here, I'm pretty much sick of them both.

It's growing on me. The set-up seems very straight up cliche about Hollywood but they seem to be using that for some genuine LolS.

American Fear of Pranksterism (Ed), Monday, 31 January 2011 12:37 (fifteen years ago)

First episode: nothing special, just setting it up
Second episode: much funnier
Third episode: alright
Fourth episode: will find out tonight
