I am normally a sucker for post-apocalyptic meltdowns, but I fear Deadwood and Oz and The Wire have ruined me for non-funny network shows.

The concept is great, but by the end of the show I had a sugar headache.

The high point was the recording of the kid's mother as he just sits there playing it over and over.

I also have a thing for post-apocalyptic meltdowns, but I am finding it hard to watch anything other than the Wire now that there are new episodes airing as well. The curse of great television. I've even given up on Prison Break.

There's a movie coming out soon, I can't remember the exact title, something along the lines of 'I Can't Let You In Honey, You're Irradiated!' about a bunch of dirty bombs going off in L.A. and one guy having to deal with the chaos, rioting, weird black crud falling from the sky and then having to seal himself inside his house. Of course, then his wife comes back from being in town and she's all nukey and such and y'know, he has to decide whether to let her in.
I'm a sucker for that stuff.

Jericho might have risen above mehdom, if only they hadn't scarred it with that dreadful, cheap, plinky TV-movie music score. It was so jarring, even appearances by The Killers and Snow Patrol were welcome relief.

The line about Atlanta was a good shocker, but otherwise -- very coy. And why isn't everyone running around screaming, "Ahhh! Radiation! Etc!"?
On bad taste fronts, it'll be worth staying with.

"There's something very pleasant about all the noise from L.A. and New York just going away."

"There's something exciting about a survival story where you get back to a simpler life where neighbors matter."
Fuck, if thats his angle, I'm giving up on the show.

Incidentally this is the first ever network TV show in Aus to be shown simeltaneous to its US run. They usually wait months to mitigate the risk of flops, but people be torrenting, I guess, so they're trying this out.
