It's been a while since I read the book, I forget.

Doesn't it seem possible that maybe, just maybe, other kings from that time period would have buried in a manner similar to Gilgy?

Yeah, the tomb that's now in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre looked a lot like the description in the Bible too. And so did a bunch of other tombs in the area.
