Moments when you thought "This band is not the same"...

Example:

When New Order sang the line "I have never thought of you in a sexual way in my life before"

I thought "They aren't joy Division anymore, are they?"

Up till then, the stuff they did could conceivably have involved Ian Curtis.

good morning.

Who knows, maybe Ian Curtis could have thought of people in sexual ways if he'd started necking E's.

i don't think i've ever looked at any band in this way. all my fave bands and artists have thankfully retained their style in some way.

Apart from Autechre tho, but I only really got into them a few years ago so I heard all their music at once. They had a very distinctive change, for the worse. up their own arse etc.

James.

They had a single out on Sire called "What For?" which had a tune, and chords you could guess at. They got dropped by Sire, and after a bit of wondering/wandering, signed to Mercury, issued "Sit Down", and Sire's loss was mercury's gain. (The "What For?" 12" was subtitled "The "Sit Down" e.p.")

Rather OTM :( Hearing her rabbit on about how she's still got her family and herself, oh dear is this the right man for me was a bit UH. I still liked it, but it was the sound of old, or something.
