So, I"m trying to figure out whether to stay in Chicago or to move back to the St. Louis Metro East for the summer. Next year will be my last year of undergrad. I've got about $2,000 of debt which I would like to pay off as well as buy a new computer for school reasons (video editing), the relevance of which will be revealed below.
I'm completely on the fence right now.
Chicago pros: Living in a proper city, slightly cooler weather, many good shows, taking an extra class or two, working a job that, while low-paid, is semi-related to my chosen field, the ability to live without a car, taking my bike everywhere, being converted to a baseball fan by Cubs fan friend (current apartment is steps away from Wrigley), and the ability to work on at least a few student films.
St. Louis pros: Very cheap rent living with an extremely good old friend who throws ridiculous parties and is a general joy to be around (essentially a human, non-cartoon version of
Ray, the very good possibility of a full-time, nicely paying job with said friend as my boss, a potential romantic opportunity (though nothing serious), proximity to awesome family, and a social network in which I am already very well-known and liked.
Help plz.

st louis, you will probably move on and this may be your last summer there, savour it, later you will ache remembering those people and be glad you spent the time with them, sorry if that's a bit gloomy, i'm very nostalgic today about certain people i used to know, i would love a summer with them again but some are dead and some have moved far away and some have changed too much.

If Ray is in St Louis then you've got to go. The dude has got no mercy...

Definitely St. Louis, if only to get a handle on the debt. Plus, a summer of partying and a little romance sounds better than anything.
Catch a couple of Cardinals games if you feel baseball deprived.

Man, what a nice choice to have to make. I have to say the latter does have a certain "Wonder Years" ring to it.

"I didn't realise it at the time, but that summer in St Louis made me who I am today - CFO of Ray Inc., married to the lovely Michelle (how could I have thought it'd be nothing serious!) and literally shitting gold bullion"

Thanks folks, very helpful.
I think the main reason I'm not totally leaning towards St. Louis is a feeling that I'm copping out, going back to a safe place instead of toughing it out and making my way in the "big city".
Any Chicago boosters?

Why not East St. Louis, then?

Essentially, yes. Stay in Chicago!
Note: I know nothing about St. Louis.
