Nobody wants to talk about this? Really??
― billstevejim, Friday, 18 May 2007 23:50 (nineteen years ago)
When I saw this on the schedule, I assumed it was just all the episodes (all FIVE or however many it is?) of this shitty, unfunny show over and over, so it's kind of cool to hear they'll be showing old shit like Beavis & Butthead and Remote Control. The weird game shows and cartoons and comedy shows MTV would run for a few months and then cancel throughout the 80s and 90s were always a lot better than the reality shows and dating games they have on now.

pretty much only give a damn if they run blocks of The Maxx and Undressed
― milo z, Saturday, 19 May 2007 00:49 (nineteen years ago)
some Singled Outs from when I thought Jenny McCarthy was the hottest woman on Earth are also acceptable
They're showing skits from The State.

― Gukbe, Saturday, 19 May 2007 01:59 (nineteen years ago)

― Gukbe, Saturday, 19 May 2007 02:07 (nineteen years ago)
I've not heard of anyone on that list except for The Walkmen and Andrew WK. Does that make me profoundly uncool, or just not an American, I wonder.
― chap, Saturday, 19 May 2007 02:19 (nineteen years ago)
I know 14 of them.
Andrew WK looked way different...more emo?
― marmotwolof, Saturday, 19 May 2007 03:27 (nineteen years ago)
it looks like this show deserves to be cancelled, do 24 hours of rob and big and we'll talk
― A B C, Saturday, 19 May 2007 04:02 (nineteen years ago)
I taped the whole thing and didn't get to fast-forward thru the entire thing yet, but as far as I can tell they did not play ANY old MTV shows, aside from the "Hormones" sketch from The State and the "Pants" sketch from The State, both of which I've seen enough times to have them memorized by now, and the "Pants" sketch didn't even include the original music (Cannonball from the Breeders). BOO-URNS.
― billstevejim, Monday, 21 May 2007 00:24 (nineteen years ago)
wow that sucks. cannonball made the whole sketch!
― chaki, Monday, 21 May 2007 00:29 (nineteen years ago)
No kidding.. tell that to Michael Showalter, who assumes the only reason people want to hear the original music is for "nostalgic" reasons.. Most of the time the music made the sketches even funnier!

Rob and Big is a yawnfest.
― billstevejim, Monday, 21 May 2007 00:40 (nineteen years ago)
woah when did showalter say that? that sucks.
― chaki, Monday, 21 May 2007 00:56 (nineteen years ago)
How did I miss the WK???? I dearly love that man.
