Dude, Swiss Cottage is NW6! Finchley Road cuts it in half.

Masonic Boom, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 09:27 (nineteen years ago)

i thought it became 'south hampstead' on the western side (which sorta doesnt make sense, technically should be sw hampstead lol)

696, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 09:32 (nineteen years ago)

It doesn't become South Hampstead until past that Belsize Road roundabout and the weird 60s housing block. That whole block of Victorian rowhouses between the Sainsburys and Priory Road is all Swiss Cottage, not West Hampstead.

Masonic Boom, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 09:39 (nineteen years ago)

confusingly south hampsteads station is in neither nw3 or nw6, but nw8!

NW3: i would live just off finchley road somewhere (maybe even those flats above the waitrose)

"brent CROSS as in ANGRY"

lex pretend, Tuesday, 22 May 2007 10:19 (nineteen years ago)

I hate how every mention of north-west London is full of angry people quibbling about what constitutes north-west London. Bothered. Instead we should turn this into a rolling thread of NW love! It's the best postcode there is.

things i love about NW include the elevated Met Line passage thru Kilburn/Brondesbury (great views south), Brent reservoir, Finchley Road and the Heath.

things i dislike about NW include the North Circular stretch and Harlesden-Willesden (sorry).

Steve, why you like Finchley Road Tunnel of Black Lung?

you mean the tunnel between FR&Frognal and Hampstead Heath station? i don't care much for that.
