Erm karl, can you filter any places on FG frequented by SDs, genetic producers, and Amorican music twats?

moley, Thursday, 24 May 2007 06:58 (nineteen years ago)

moley, Thursday, 24 May 2007 22:56 (nineteen years ago)

Ha, no sorry, I wouldn't even know where to start looking.

Kate, non masonic, Friday, 25 May 2007 00:31 (nineteen years ago)

Oh it was actually the Neighbours set/lot I visited, not the commercial tour.

It was weird, dingy, and gave me heeby-jeebies.
They had some awesome old unused analogue equipment still sitting there in different rooms.

Paul f---ing R0bins0n was friendly.

spectra, Friday, 25 May 2007 01:05 (nineteen years ago)

Hard like armour, Friday, 25 May 2007 01:11 (nineteen years ago)

Drooone, Friday, 25 May 2007 01:25 (nineteen years ago)

Hard like armour, Friday, 25 May 2007 01:29 (nineteen years ago)

I WOULD SO LEARN TO DRIVE just so I could drive it the hell all over the city.

Trayce, Friday, 25 May 2007 02:54 (nineteen years ago)

Do you realise that truck is, in effect, a ute? You can't tow a trailer with it.

and here's one that was parked in my parent's street:

haitch, Friday, 25 May 2007 06:47 (nineteen years ago)

sweeeet rides.

oh yeah, I was going to mention that I used to work in a restaurant next door to this cult's headquarters at Murwi11umbah (far northern NSW). They were fucking crepey dudes

Should read up about them. It's fun to learn.

One of them owned the building the restauant was in, her name was morning cl0ud or some bullshit. Groups of like 20 of them used to come in and eat all the time.

Drooone, Friday, 25 May 2007 06:51 (nineteen years ago)

Sorry, that was v. random, but I like telling people about them. I think it's hilarious.
I mean, essentially they're just shonks.
I think they're into teh orgies too. Like most cults I assume.

Drooone, Friday, 25 May 2007 06:56 (nineteen years ago)

moley, Friday, 25 May 2007 08:19 (nineteen years ago)

I think that's a great idea.

ALSO:

like anyone!

-- haitch, Friday, 25 May 2007 07:13 (2 hours ago) Link

I said this because the only other cult related individge I knew was a guy who was a raelian and he claimed they were all about group sex. (that was about 8 yrs agough though)

Drooone, Friday, 25 May 2007 09:49 (nineteen years ago)

I remember seeing a doco about them - and one thing has stuck with me above all - a concert where a singer sang, to the the tune of Sting's 'An Englishman in NY':

Woo--oh
I'm a Raelian
I'm a legal Raelian
I'm a Raelian
On Planet Earth'

I actually have two friends who were brought up in a cult - the same cult! One of them, in particular, has an almost medieval cosmology. She baulks at my interest in Satanism, to say the least, though I assure her it's all well intentioned (I see it as basically psychoanalysis with more of a theatrical rock n roll schtick - heaven knows psychoanalylists, in Sydney anyway, could use a bit more rock n roll schtick). She sees angels, she sees devils, every day, all because of her upbringing. She works in a fetish shop - chalk another one up for Freud!

The other one didn't listen to music between about 1982-1987, because her cult banned music! Of course, she became a singer in the end - with a real lacuna in her musical knowledge, corresponding to 1982-1987.

moley, Friday, 25 May 2007 10:12 (nineteen years ago)

srsly, that is so hilarious. love it.

Drooone, Friday, 25 May 2007 10:17 (nineteen years ago)

haitch, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:03 (nineteen years ago)

Trayce, Friday, 1 June 2007 04:21 (nineteen years ago)

electricsound, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 03:21 (eighteen years ago)

hi trayce, i went to adelaide, i have never seen so many unattractive young people in my life, we must all be kind to esteban and also esteban must leave there asap, my heart was breaking for him as i strode the gum-stained footpaths listening to amateur thugs shouting inarticulate threats into their phones, i don't know how he stands it.

estela, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:00 (eighteen years ago)

i have never seen so many unattractive young people in my life

energy flash gordon, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:07 (eighteen years ago)

my heart was breaking for him as i strode the gum-stained footpaths listening to amateur thugs shouting inarticulate threats into their phones

Wait, Adelaide has turned into western Sydney now?

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

i'm afraid so. at one low point i was squeezed into a elevator with a horde of belching bridesmaids who were complaining in not-dulcet tones about the fake tan stains on their ill-fitting frocks.

estela, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:24 (eighteen years ago)

Did they hit each other?

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:30 (eighteen years ago)

no, they were as thick as thieves. i suspected they felt sorry for me for not having giant tattooed breasts, they gave me these supercilious looks. i found the mutual disdain quite enjoyable and they probably did too, so really i should probably call it a high point.

estela, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:32 (eighteen years ago)

There's a theory that the idea of swearing being rude came from the British middle classes, i.e. those who aspired to something and therefore had cause to arbitrate what is and isn't rude. Neither the upper nor lower classes aspired to be greater, so they swore as much as they liked. What I'm trying to say is that I'm guessing this wasn't the Queen and her daughters in the lift then.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:41 (eighteen years ago)

haha, no, but that would have been no better.
kit, tell us more about these glasgow young peoples.

estela, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 05:51 (eighteen years ago)

estela, why u not come to see me?? *le sad*

I live in a suburb full of trendy left eternal uni students and lesbians for a start.

King Boy Pato, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 08:21 (eighteen years ago)

Hey I got fired today. *Yay*.

Well. I got told to resign. And paid for it. So I guess thats something.

Wanted to leave anyway but I still feel like a fuckup right now :(

Trayce, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 08:55 (eighteen years ago)

Um, WHAT?? What happened? Are you okay? (slightly disingenuous question because you're probably not)

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm feeling a bit down and useless but I'll manage. It's been a long time coming with the depression meaning I was away so much (thats what caused this, I was effectively fired for poor performance but they tarted it up nicely cause Ive worked well that aside).

I kind of feel ill, but eh. Whatyagonnado.

Trayce, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:04 (eighteen years ago)

Um, do you need any help with that? The depression I mean

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:08 (eighteen years ago)

Oh no no , thats actually all past me now, thats the ridiculous part. I tried to explain my situation, better myself a little at work, but then I genuinely got sick a couple times from colds and that was the last straw.

Fuck if I can be bothered caring/fighting it though I hated the place anyway.

Trayce, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:14 (eighteen years ago)

You weren't that happy there anyway though, were you?

CHANGE == HOLIDAY;

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:17 (eighteen years ago)

Don't worry Trayce, I am a bit of a psychic about these things and I have been feeling very strongly for a while now that you are on the up n up and no mistake. This is just a clearing process, getting the shit job out of your life to make way for something better. You think I am wrong? I will remind you of this post in 6-8 months.

moley, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:33 (eighteen years ago)

Heh thankyou :) I must say your post about having a very good feeling about me and Rob did make me smile a lot :)

Trayce, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 09:36 (eighteen years ago)

I also have a good feeling about the Liberals. Just kidding.

moley, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 21:39 (eighteen years ago)

onwards and upwards trayce. you need a much more positive working environment. i can't begin to tell you the difference it will make

electricsound, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 22:59 (eighteen years ago)

Aye, I'm quite sure that be so.

That said, I feel like the universe is elbowing me and going "oi, do something you *want* to do for a chance missy" but I dont know what, Ive done IT for so long (even though I really dont care for it that much).

I'd like to somehow work writing into a job but I'm thinking I may need some brushup skills over xmas, maybe a short course. Maybe I will start a blog, ha.

Trayce, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

Tech writing?

srsly that's what kept me in IT and got me through depression. There's demand for tech writers too.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

Bummer Trayce. No doubt it's a traumatic experience but hopefully you'll find somewhere else thats a bit more fulfilling.

badg, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 23:38 (eighteen years ago)

She will.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 23:43 (eighteen years ago)

Life's awesome like that. Change is scary until it happens.

Autumn Almanac, Wednesday, 5 December 2007 23:43 (eighteen years ago)

Tech writing's somethign Ive never specifically done. I might see if I can do a bit of online learnin' over xmas so I know what kind of expectations there are for that kind of work .

Trayce, Thursday, 6 December 2007 00:18 (eighteen years ago)

Bwahaha!

RETIRED broadcaster John Laws filled the air with obscenities at a Sydney restaurant yesterday during a tirade aimed at his radio rivals Derryn Hinch and Bob Rogers.

Laws was dining with a group at his favourite Otto restaurant when he got wind that Hinch, of 3AW and Rogers, of Sydney's 2CH, were at the nearby Salon Blanc restaurant and bar.

With fellow 2UE star Mike Carlton in tow, Laws marched the 100 metres from his table to confront his long-term rivals, witnesses said.

Hinch later said Laws cut a sad, drunken figure with his knuckles planted on their table during the tirade.

"You are both despicable c---s," Hinch said Laws repeatedly told them.

"I don't know what prompted it. And then he said to me: 'Look at you, you are a failed alcoholic'.

"So I said: 'That must make you a successful one'.

Trayce, Thursday, 6 December 2007 01:26 (eighteen years ago)

I have a grudging respect for Hinch I gotta say.

Trayce, Thursday, 6 December 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)
