Is there a greater symbol of "Britishness" than a heavily cluttered van dashboard?

Empty Ginster's packets, apple cores, seven or eight copies of the Daily Sport, bags from the various bakeries that are close to their places of work... *this* is what makes Britain great, surely?

The gilded ornamental tissue box on the back shelf of an immaculately kept saloon car is a shining beacon of the multicultural diversity of this nation.

Every country has its heavily cluttered dashboards, admittedly Britain's are grimier than most. Indian cab drivers have entire shrines up there.

Maltese bus drivers turn their cabs into chapels. When you experience their driving you can see why.

I thought white van men were more likely to buy the Star and the Sun than the Sport (though the draw of a high nipple count should not be overlooked).
