Sour/Bitter - a food thread

I suppose I owe to my wife the fact that I've expanded my palate beyond the traditional American sweet/salty axis. So a thread for food and drink of delicious sour and/or bitter flavor. Please be as specific as possible (and first person who says "Sour Patch Kids" gets zapped).

Sumac is like purple flakes, really sour, used in a lot of middle eastern foods or in a spice mixture called za'atar. I have a jar of it but don't use it that often, but I got some knowing kind of what it was used for but I haven't been on a big middle eastern kick in a while.

Mango pickle for me in terms of sour foods. It's one of those things I didn't like at all when I first had it but got acclimated to it and started to really like it.

mango pickle, lime pickle, lemon pickle, eggplant pickle... basically any kind of indian pickle is aces.

in addition to being part of spice mixtures, ground sumac is sometimes sprinkled on dips and salads.

Oh MAN sumac is yum for real. There's other things I can think of but I can't think of them. Will report later.

Za'atar is really good with labeneh. It's really hard to find good labeneh in the states though - my only luck has been these kind of preserved balls of it that came in a jar of oil.
