i cant believe what a waste of time & effort this is... if they really cared about the well-being of helpless kids (i dont think they do) couldnt they spend their 10 hours a day volunteering at a foster home or something instead of standing around on the sidewalk annoying people

nickalicious, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

apparently the guy who runs a "jew watch" website lives like 10 miles from me. I kind of want to camp on his front lawn so he can watch me do stuff. or maybe I should send him pictures of me like doing laundry, eating cereal, driving to work, sharpening my horns, etc.

bnw, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

i have become resigned to the idea that the world will always contain maudlin crazies who attach themselves to ideas like this. these people have always existed and they always will exist. i believe this type of activity has got almost nothing to do with actually helping disadvantaged children and everything to do with alternately assuaging and feeding some weird, keening martyrdom that they have convinced themselves is their birthright. in a time of war these people would probably actually be doing something useful, like nursing.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

uh this is a time of war

Shakey Mo Collier, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

I think the only person who's personally pro-life who's ever given a shit about poor women and poor children is Jimmy Carter. I doubt any of these people would be inclined to nursing under any circumstances.

horseshoe, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

also, bnw, plz do that! wtf is a Jew watch?

HI DERE, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

yeah horseshoe maybe you're right. what i mean is that this kind of blind fervor of righteousness can be channelled into a lot of different things, some of them not so bad. like people who faithfully attend candlelight vigils for death row inmates. it's just weird how many of these people are just STUCK on abortion, stuck in this loop, this energy not getting channelled into anything else.

Tracer Hand, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:40 (eighteen years ago)

I know what you mean, Tracer, and it's a generous thought on your part, but I think rabid pro-lifers are just different in kind than run of the mill zealots (partially because of how they view women). but I hates them, so I'm biased.

horseshoe, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

yeah theres no real way to explain the idea that you care deeply about children dying with your response to being to yell at poor women & try to stop them from going to a doctor instead of helping the thousands & thousands of actual children who die in america every day

or I guess maybe the difference between zealots and zealots is some kind of investment in the social world as it is? like it seems unlikely to me that you end up nursing unless you feel connected in some way to other people.

horseshoe, Monday, 29 October 2007 17:51 (eighteen years ago)

and that connectedness isn't contingent on them being rightminded about whatever your pet issue is.

or on not being dirty whores, i.e. women.

The only time I enjoy "Hen Fap" is imagining protesting the protesters with "We Want Hen Fap" sign. Only the absurd could make this laughable.

Abbott, Monday, 29 October 2007 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

There are lots of LITTLE KID supporters too. Holding signs at surely their parents' order & shit. Poor fucking kids, that is tantamount to fabric-shopping torture.

Abbott, Monday, 29 October 2007 19:00 (eighteen years ago)

I escort at Planned Parenthood and I get so furious at the protesters because they could be do so many POSITIVE things - volunteering at a soup kitchen, crocheting bandages for leper colonies, cleaning up a highway anything - but instead they are standing in a little clot outside of a fucking HEALTH CLINIC yelling "THEY KILL BABIES IN THERE" at women who are, most likely, going inside to have a CANCER SCREENING. And then they have the nerve to say that they are there because they care about women's health.

OMG

Jenny, Monday, 29 October 2007 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

yelling at women outside a clinic that abortion is bad for the psyche of women is srsly the most amazing piece of circular logic since those anti-drug ads that explained that smoking weed is illegal because it can ruin your life and the way it will ruin your life is because we will lock you up for smoking it

Srsly this book Ammonite is about a mixed-gender exploration force that lands on a habitable planet and finds that colony ships had crashed there hundreds of years ago and there are humans on it already...but only women. It turns out there's a viral agent that kills men but women can survive it because it gives them biofeedback on a crazy advanced level so as the virus is killing you, you look inside and transform it into a symbiote. From that point, women can trigger their own ovulation & implantation and trigger the egg to start dividing on its own. Oh yes. It's totally amazing. And actually not a bad little book at all.

Who knows. It turns out to be the method of reproduction for everything else on the planet; the virus is as necssary as the ones that live in our stomachs, for instance.

a boy-child is discovered on a distant planet, one of the few born in this society, and is to be sold for milking until he is rescued from the clutches of his sexually uninhibited mothers (<--- SEX SCENE L@@K HOW DECADENT) by a rag-tag group of rogue-ish and v masculine ex-space marines and their doting wives(<--- SEX SCENE, BUT IN A TASTEFUL HETERO WAY) who have a spaceship (it, too, being the last of its breed) and use it to fly to the heart of the sapphic empire, crashing through the enormous glass ceiling of milking/cloneing facility (GUESS WHAT THE ROOF LOOKS LIKE), and destroying the empire by sending the boy-child through one of the portals (which was highly taboo, and had never been done before). his male energy disrupts the universe's foldings, destroying the network of portals and severely damaging the sapphic empire's ability to govern. scores of men and women are released from lesbian bondage.
