I like some of the SCTV guy's work, but it's always bothered me that he rushed out a dishy biography of John Candy following his friend's death.

It wasn't a Candy biography, it was a history of the entire show, and pretty much free of gossip. The only member of the cast who I remember coming off badly was Thomas himself, having temper tantrums behind the scenes.

Martin Knelman was a Toronto entertainment columnist of no particular distinction. I'm glad to defend the integrity of Dave Thomas (the SCTV guy) or, for that matter, the Pere Ubu guy.
