GANGS of hoodies are bringing terror to our streets, menacing communities, instilling fear and putting at risk the peaceful way most of us want to be allowed to live our lives.Scores of families and young people in Birmingham and the surrounding area have had restaurant trips ruined by masked robbers. In a rampage of crime lasting months the gang has robbed 19 McDonald’s under the illusion that they are untouchable.Police have found it difficult to catch the four youths because of they hide their faces with hoodies and balaclavas. The gang members, believed to be aged between 15 and their early 20s, have struck terror into the hearts of restaurant workers in the Midlands.Knowing they will be picked up on security cameras, they raise their hoods as they approach the restaurants. Once inside, some pull on balaclavas. Then one of them will leap over the counter to hold a knife at the throat of one of the terrified staff and demand that the tills are opened. At the same time, two others jump up on the counter and shout at customers to run out, but they order staff to stay at their posts so the tills can be operated. The fourth stays in the dining area to make sure customers leave quickly while the tills are emptied. A source said:“They use the same method most of the time and it has proved to be highly effective. The hoodie tops and the balaclavas are key parts of their kit to avoid detection.“They get a few thousand pounds in each raid and they seem to have a good knowledge of security measures.

From the Express HYS NO DISCRIMINATION, BURKAS AND VEILS TOO
30.03.08, 12:56pm
I would imagine there would be an outcry if hoods were banned without banning all clothing that conceals the identity.
As the burka has recently been used by robbers then there is no excuse for not banning it and the niqab (veil) as they both equally conceal identity even more so than the hoodie.

It's exactly the same as BBC HYS!

Now pubs ban trilbies By RICHARD WHITE
A PUB chain has barred elderly gents from wearing their trilby hats — as part of the war on HOODIES.
Brewer Greene King claims the brims hide wearers’ faces from CCTV cameras at its 800 premises.
Staff are under orders to treat punters with trilbies the same as hoodie yobs — and deny service to those who refuse to remove them.
Great-grandad Colin Osborne, 64, blew his top when a barmaid ordered him to take off his trilby at The Monument pub in Hereford.
He complained to the manager, who told him it was policy in all Greene King pubs.
Local newspaper editor Colin, of All Stretton, Shropshire, said: “I’ve worn a trilby for 20 years. I’m hardly likely to be fighting on CCTV.
“If someone in a hoodie misbehaves, they should be punished — not everybody who wears a hat.”
Colin, who had popped for a drink with his son Mark, 40, said: “I took off my trilby to keep the peace. But I should be able to wear it when and where I choose.”
Nigel Denford, editor of Hat Magazine, branded the ban “ridiculous”.
Greene King insisted: “Hats of any kind obscure the faces of customers from the cameras. To remain consistent and fair, we ask all customers to observe the policy.”

Not unless they promise to fill the trains with all the illegal immigrants and asylum seekers, this would mean stopping at a few prisons on the way and take the lot back to were they came from And even then defiantly No

Fortunately, none of these people are allowed to vote. Right?
― StanM, Sunday, 30 March 2008 17:35 (eighteen years ago)
Why would anyone be surprised that there are lot of people on the internets that think in a way typical of HYS/the Sun/Mail/Express message boards, btw? Have you never been on a bus/in a taxi/in a pub/in any workplace ever, not to mention actually considered that these papers sell because there is a market for them? The world is full of people who think this shite.
Anyway, I am wearing a hoodie right now. Ban me!

Yes, barely a day goes by without me calling for mass deportations before discussing the problems of young people wearing hooded jumpers.

I'm wearing my Khanate hoodie. I've not been banned from my town centre yet and I've been wearing hoodies since I was 13(over 20 years). The Khanate hoodie isnt that old though before anyone asks.

I wear hoodie every day to work tho it's in the land of liberty good ol USA so there's no danger of it being outlawed.

the masked robbers
No customers have yet been threatened
They returned a few weeks later, only to flee empty-handed when Mrs Sirkhot stood up to them.
