1. Archie Hahn, USA (60 metres 1904, also 2 more medals, both gold):

His run in the 200 m final delivered him the gold and a good time, although the latter was flattered, because the race was run on a straight course.

2. Harry Hillman, USA (200 metres hurdles 1904, also 3 more medals, of which 2 gold):

On April 24, 1909, Hillman and Lawson Robertson set a record that has never been equalled, running the 100 yards (91 m) three-legged race in 11.0 seconds.

After retiring from sports Sheppard became a lawyer (he was one of the defenders of the Lindbergh child kidnapper Bruno Hauptmann).

4. Emil Voigt, GBR (5 miles race, 1908):

He retired from sports in 1910 [...], and emigrated to Australia, where he set up his own radio station, broadcasting wrestling commentaries.

6. Konstantinos Tsiklitiras, GRE (standing long jump 1912, also three more medals):

His career came to a halt in 1913 when he volunteered to fight in the Balkan Wars, where he contracted meningitis and died at the age of 24.
