Fuck Neighbourhood Watch

After a not-particularly-interesting evening out, culminating in a visit to The Worst Club In Romford FatNick and myself are driven home with a few friends, leaving Romford about 20 to midnight. Coming down the road opposite my house BC remarks "Oh, is your car, like, being repaired then?", and of course I am mystified at BC The Stoner's comment until I lean round DC the driver and see my car UP ON TWO JACKS WITH ALL FOUR WHEELS MISSING! Gah! AL, The God Of Rock (whose dad is a senior Ford dude), analyses the situation and reckons it took 2-3 men 10-15 minutes to break into the car, open the boot, get the wheel nut unlocking device out (that may seem a silly place to keep it but wot if you have a puncture, eh?), jack up the car on both sides and remove all four wheels and of course the spare wheel from the boot. All of this was done between 19:45 and 23:45, and of course it was all done RIGHT OUTSIDE MY HOUSE! So, 2-3 men + 5 wheels must = decent sized 'getaway' vehicle, probably a Transit sized van, which would almost certainly have had the engine running for the whole time...and it seems none of our dear neighbours saw or heard anything. The police aren't going to bother to come round till tomorrow and of course they're not going to catch anyone, apparently no-one saw anything, it's been raining so there'll be no fingerprints (and they probably wore gloves anyway), so essentially there's no evidence at all. FatNick and AL are gonna put word about to see if they can fish out anyone but I doubt it'll come to anything. Lesson learned: don't bother having alloy wheels. Thank goodness it's only a company car!
So what's the most audacious criminal act you've been a victim of/perpetrated?

Wow! Back to the 80s retro style car crime. Shame they didn't leave it on bricks for the full effect. I sympathise though. My stereo has been nicked three times in the last 6 months. The dumb company who made it guarantee it for life against theft so they give me a new one, but still, it puts me out £100 in windows every time.

If I find out who did it I'm going to put then up on bricks and steal their feet.

You should write a book about Romford, DG.

"You should write a book about Romford, DG"
Perhaps I will one day, I think there's enough natural material around here to amuse non-Romfordians, from the facist MP to the roving bands of charvers to the metallers with their undercut hairdos to the sudden crazy outbreaks of drunken murder in the town centre...

true story of bad area in South Shields. To give you a flavour of this area, a few years ago armed police were called out, only to find a 12yo shooting next-door's chickens with an air rifle poked out of hs bedroom window. Abt 15 yrs ago though, a cop car got called out to this area. The cops went into the house where the trouble was, & came out 20 mins later only to find that the proto-charvers there had ripped off the two wheels on the offside of the cop car. Would that one had the nerve
