This question is really basic but I'm assuming one of you guys will be able to help me out with the common sense I lack:
I just need a better way to organize and write down my work and weekly/monthly schedule.
I guess most people use their cell phones, but mine isn't that new and the calendar function is pretty crappy and it takes forever to type stuff in.
Anyone have any advice? I guess all I really need is a calendar for my wall at home, but if I need to know what I'm doing on a given day when I'm not at home, I'll need like a wallet size calendar or datebook.
Is it that simple? Should I just try to find one of those?
Or should I get with the digital age and get a better cell phone? Is that the best solution?
Sorry if this is retarded, but any help would be appreciated, I'm really bad when it comes to organizing stuff and I'm trying to get better!
Also, if anyone wants to give me any tips on being more organized in general or stuff I should look into let me know.
I guess this might all be able to be solved with a better phone with a keypad but I'm just really on a budget...
I dunno, sorry for rambling, any help will be appreciated.

okay.
i don't know anyone who uses their phone for this. i know people do, but to me it seems kind of dumb. i mean really, am i gonna sit there scrolling and looking for the right button to write down that i need to pick up my dry cleaning?
all you need to do is get a dayplanner. a nice little black book that has both weekly/monthly layouts.
i'm very organized and generally it's because i compartmentalize my life by writing it down. i write everything down.
dayplanner.

I'm a fan of Google calendar and it syncs pretty well with outlook (iCal not so well). I use it as a focal point between phone, home and work computers.

also, is your house a mess? i feel like i'm on my way to hell if my place isn't organized.
i don't know what i would do without a monthly calendar, though, really is the big thing.

i second the dayplanner suggestion, with a twist. i use these frank1in c0vey "c0mpass" spiral-bound booklets. one is a month-to-month calendar (2 pages per month), the other is more of a daily planner (2 pages per day, with room for notes). the two slip into a compact folder along with a small address book, and you change the monthly booklet each month. it works, though a simple old-fashioned agenda would be fine too.
