the dictionary defines a lexicographer as "a writer or compiler of a dictionary" but that's exactly what they want you to think!

Should dictionaries reflect traditional or common usage?

Are lexicographers the rockists of language?

i always wuv it when the "new edn of chambers" or whatever comes out, and there's a story in the papers saying 'Nigga' in but 'folderol' out, say egghedZoR", or whatevah.

I was disheartened to hear that Jonathon Green plans on adding 'emo' to the next edition of his slang dictionary.

No, Stevie T. An illustrated dictionary of slang would be a marvellous thing. Esp if there were no definitions, just pictures. It would be full of tits and dicks though.

Being nice would bump up his emo points though.

Would it? Once again, I am floored by the whole 'what is emo' conundrum.

oh yes, those emo types are dreadfully "nice" and sensible too, that's why they're so boring for goodness' sake. I mean, Moshpit monitors? wtf is that all about?
