Drs w/o borders

as that the same as 'medecin sans frontiers?' I saw them on a BBC documentary about the war in Afghanistan and they seemed to be brave and useful, but I also thought something that just concentrates entirely on medicine ... I mean ... wouldn't it be better to donate to a charity that fights the causes leading up to illness, ie malnutrition and war?

They are and they deal not only with immediate concerns such as medicine but larger issues of refugees and other concerns, they also are affliated with a group called engineers w/o borders who work v. v. hard at building cheap and efficent infastructure esp. things like clean water wells and distrubution networks. Donate to one and you donate to the both.

eleven years pass...

Is an ilxor familiar with Operation USA? Mark Evanier was recommending it this morning for Oklahoma tornado donations, but tbh I'd never heard of it. Trying to find the most effective/least top-heavy way to direct some bucks.
