Well, I think I e-mailed most of the NYCers personally after assuming Greenspun wouldn't be back up by this weekend. But anyway...
I'm thinking Sunday day might be a better option for a gettogether, as the weather forecast says it will be a lot nicer that day than today.
I realize this is Easter weekend. So, I don't expect anything as grandiose as when Ned arrived in town -- especially now that Ally is not around for the weekend. But I'm still gonna try for something... I talked to Mike Daddino and Nichole Graham, so hopefully at least the three of us will try to hash something out then. So, if you're interested in joining up, feel free to e-mail me and let me know, and I'll alert everyone else as best as I can.

But let it be known that I expect those who *do* show up to give him
one hell of a party, as Brian is one of my Best Friends and I will
take you all to task if you don't.
*I'm the only brave soul to admit it, am I? Well, first there were
huge masses of food, flowing wine. Then, there were these exotic
dancers whose technique left little to the imagination.....;>
(grin) Just checking to see whether you were paying attention....
But truly, there ended up being a cozy group of 5: me, Brian, the
strikingly dashing Mike Daddino, Brian's good friend Trevor and
another good soul whose name currently escapes me. We all met for
lunch/brunch at this Ethiopian restaurant (Ghenet, if you wish to
check it out). Food was a plenty and reasonably priced. The
conversation was a music junkie's pleasure. (Oddly enough, Ned, you
DID come up, once or twice...;>)
Coming from the wilds of Long Island, I was the last one to get
there. Brian's blue hair DID bring back happy childhood memories of
the Smurfs, though. (Think "relaxed rocker", or something;>)
After lunch, the friend Brian travelled to NYC with had to return to
Boston, so it was down to the four of us. We proceeded to give him a
resident's walking tour of music's decadent past: CBGB's, Brownies,
The Phoenix, etc. More along the lines of: "Damn, what the hell
happened HERE? The coolness factor is certainly gone..."
As he wanted to check out Kim's Underground, we couldn't turn him
down. Went to the one off of St. Marks Place. I also got a quick
education on the current trend of "mixed" bootlegs.
Unfortunately, as Brian had to be on the road to Philly by 6, he
couldn't stick around. A few quick pictures and he was off...
As it was Easter round here, we had to keep the screams down to a
dull roar. So, a grand time was had by us all. Great friend and
intrepid cross-country explorer, we salute ye.
Once he peels himself off of someone's floor in Philly, I'm sure
he'll deny everything....
