What would financial Armageddon look like?

Forget individual countries being "in the shitbin", what happens if it all goes wrong? What really happens? We need a global thread for this I think.

Note, that the Beeb article was written before the events of the last couple of days.

First and foremost, Financial Armageddon would have to take place on a plain somewhere in Israel, and there would have to be two armies of bankers clashing - with one of the banker-armies led by the financial anti-Christ - maybe Boone Pickens. I imagine they would club one another with decorative paperweights and stab one another with matching pen sets.
