Should be everything she's been credited for in film. Left out tv roles (of which there are many) and her voicework in a few things. Will Casino or Basic Instict take this? Maybe.

she pulls off a trailorpark-gone-gold glamor in Casino that no other actress could've

Surmounter, Monday, 27 April 2009 20:13 (seventeen years ago)

top 3 of total recall, casino, and basic instinct (who the hell knows what order, though)

~*GAME 2 SNYPA*~ (omar little), Monday, 27 April 2009 20:14 (seventeen years ago)

The only possible answer is Action Jackson.

Bill Magill, Monday, 27 April 2009 20:14 (seventeen years ago)

think casino's got this.

i think cruz could have, she was a right handful in blow.

not_goodwin, Monday, 27 April 2009 20:16 (seventeen years ago)

I've only seen three of the films she's done since Casino, it appears (Sphere, Cold Creek Manor and Broken Flowers). Anything else worth checking into?

Johnny Fever, Monday, 27 April 2009 20:22 (seventeen years ago)

lol Sliver

nashville - spiritual home of the cougar (will), Monday, 27 April 2009 20:57 (seventeen years ago)

there's something so country about her face sometimes, i adore it

Surmounter, Monday, 27 April 2009 20:59 (seventeen years ago)

like i wanna eat crab cakes with her at a country club

Surmounter, Monday, 27 April 2009 21:00 (seventeen years ago)

(w lots of liquor obv)

Surmounter, Monday, 27 April 2009 21:03 (seventeen years ago)

I get that from her too. She can be made up to be some kind of classic Hollywood beauty, but you can tell she's more comfortable out of costume.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 27 April 2009 21:04 (seventeen years ago)

I left the tv stuff out obviously, but the first time I noticed her was during her 3-episode arc of Magnum P.I. playing, as usual, a sexy crazy woman.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 27 April 2009 21:06 (seventeen years ago)

yes the one where she was sometimes also her schizo twin sister? she looked pretty good in that iirc.

but of course I'm voting Action Jackson

sonderangerbot, Monday, 27 April 2009 21:39 (seventeen years ago)

I had a visceral, negative reaction to her in Casino the first time I saw it - but in retrospect that was more a result of her character being totally loathsome than anything else. Definitely the best movie she's ever been in.

She is fun in Broken Flowers. V.v. pretty in Stardust Memories (a film otherwise chockfull of uggos)

shit was shocking as fuck back then (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 27 April 2009 21:42 (seventeen years ago)

"Basic Instinct 2"?! Never knew it existed - was it straight-to-DVD?

I wish he hadn't adapted my critique of his "ilxor" moniker (Myonga Vön Bontee), Monday, 27 April 2009 21:51 (seventeen years ago)

No, it was actually in the theaters...for at least one weekend.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 27 April 2009 22:07 (seventeen years ago)

she pulls off a trailorpark-gone-gold glamor in Casino that no other good actress could've

I'm crossing over into enterprise (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 27 April 2009 22:08 (seventeen years ago)

She's the only one who seems in on the joke in Diabolique. Her tragedy is that she seems too smart for the movies.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Sharon Stone, too smart for the movies:

Ein Herz für Briten (Trackpants Tree), Monday, 4 May 2009 01:34 (seventeen years ago)

Oh that's just painful to watch.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:01 (seventeen years ago)

would've voted ANTZ if the pollmaker knew to include it. have never seen Basic Instinct.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:37 (seventeen years ago)

Sliver she jills off in a bathtub.

Eazy, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:38 (seventeen years ago)

Left out tv roles (of which there are many) and her voicework in a few things.

Also, ANTZ is horrible!

Johnny Fever, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:39 (seventeen years ago)

my 2nd fave thing about her is her ex-husband being attacked by a Komodo dragon

Dr Morbius, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:43 (seventeen years ago)

The 1st?

Johnny Fever, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:44 (seventeen years ago)

ANTZ

Dr Morbius, Monday, 4 May 2009 03:48 (seventeen years ago)

Never seen it, but Ebert's review of Basic Instinct 2 makes me want to check it out despite my better judgement. http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060330/REVIEWS/60323008/1023

featuring Strawberry and the Shortcakes (Billy Dods), Monday, 4 May 2009 12:35 (seventeen years ago)

i thought she was in the Door in the Floor! (but that's Kim Basinger...)
i thought her part in Bobby was fine.

Ludo, Monday, 4 May 2009 12:54 (seventeen years ago)

voted "the quick and the dead" myself

Beatrix Kiddo, Monday, 4 May 2009 12:58 (seventeen years ago)

Broken Flowers is easily the best among the movies I'm seen, but I'm not sure if it's right to vote for that, as her role in it is a minor one. I might just vote for King Solomon's Mines, which I really liked as a kid. I only realized years later that Sharon Stone was in it, because that was long before she became a proper star. Kinda like realizing Naomi Watts was Jet Girl in Tank Girl.

Tuomas, Monday, 4 May 2009 13:19 (seventeen years ago)

"my 2nd fave thing about her is her ex-husband being attacked by a Komodo dragon"

Stone bought him the visit with the dragon in his cage in the zoo for his birthday. Happy fucking Birthday!

Bill Magill, Monday, 4 May 2009 13:41 (seventeen years ago)

man, i watch Animal Planet thinking about how i would kick it with some huge dangerous creature all the time, but people like him and the damn polar bear lady who are dumb enough to actually act on that impulse really deserve whatever they get.

Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987) 5

???!

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 02:06 (seventeen years ago)

im glad you see that as a uniquely indefensible choice and not Action Jackson

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 04:35 (seventeen years ago)

Leather pants in "Lost City of Gold". Totally my first crush ever.

Adam Bruneau, Tuesday, 5 May 2009 16:23 (seventeen years ago)

four years pass...

Why don't we have a Casino thread?

Beatrix Kiddo (Raymond Cummings), Monday, 27 January 2014 01:39 (twelve years ago)

make one
