my jaw doesn't lock up or anything but my jaw gets tight on occasion and the right hinge will crack, like a knuckle, except it's horribly loud since it's basically happening inside my ear. generally happens every week or two, but sometimes as often as daily if i'm stressed out.

Ugh I suffer badly from this :( Sometimes I cant even open my mouth all the way cause my jaw's locked up. It constantly clicks and pops, and I have neck and headaches all the fucking time. Sick of it.

nah its not wisdom teeth, its definitely the joint-like i cant open my mouth wide at all and when i bite it kills... massaging the joint a little helps but daaam
i guess i should get a mouthguard

I tried one of them TMJ mouthguards you wear in yr sleep but it just made me drool everywhere.

I get this on the right side TMJ. Not nearly as bad as it used to be though. I used to wake up in the morning and my jaw would be locked, the only way to unlock it would be to punch myself in the jaw! I suppose it depends on how the problem starts - for me it was when I was 11, I was balancing along the top of a low wall, fell off, and landed face/jaw first on the concrete. These days I can open my mouth without any problems, but any food that requires a lot of chewing, ie, salad, will cause the click-pop-aarrgh problem after about 15 minutes of chomping. Actually it got a lot better after I had my wisdom teeth out, not because of the teeth themselves, but because it was done under general anaesthetic, and they probably used a car jack to hold my jaw open or something, resulting in the joint loosening up a bit.

So the right side of my jaw really hurts, not so much when its open, but when I bite down. The really alarming thing is my right ear sounds like all strange (it's like the sound you get when your yawning - If I tap on my nose or bite down, I get a kind of hollow sound). I should probably get myself to an ENT, but today's a holiday, so.
Also, I think the problem may have been exacerbated by using a nasal rinse bottle. Could this be because there's water in my ears?
Thanks.

This is a likely cause of headaches, yes? Because I have headaches AND TMJ and I'm trying to eliminate variables without having to resort to keeping a fuckin' 'food journal' or some shit.
Also, I worry if I try one of those teeth plate thingies, I'm convinced I will be the first man to die in his sleep choking on one.
