new answerz

geeta, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Explain why, Ms. Geeta. :-)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Crispin Fucking Glover!!!

rosemary, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i think now he prefers to be called bow wow

jack, Thursday, 11 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought he was an underrated genius in the TWENTIETH century. Can anybody better that?

maryann, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It was so DANG great!!! I mean SHOOT have you ever seen a movie with a BETTER paint FIGHT!! Or MORE random loose PLOT threads!! It's almost a META-MOVIE, a deconstruction of the ol' kid gets hit by lightning and becomes superhuman, fantastic athlete, etc trope. I couldn't believe the movie was NC-17 though. If they could have cut some of the full frontal nudity a lot MORE people would/could see it and it wouldn't be restricted to the art crowd niche.

Alex in SF, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

geeta you have given me great hope, the trailers made it look wonderful

Josh, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He has to be better than Omero Mumba that's for sure! (child star of the time machine and has recently released a single called "little big man")

jel --, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i love that joke in the trailer where dirk nowitzki asks bow wow for an autograph for his niece and he's like "what's her name?" "uh...dirk".

dave k, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i think you are all on some serious drugs. This has to be one of the top rated pieces of shit to hit theaters. His music is friggin piss too. Pardon me, Im grumpy today.

Chris, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Do his parents make him smoke? He seems really tiny and stunted for his age, perhaps he's the new Gary Coleman.

Nicole, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it true he was raped by his limo driver? If not can we make it up?

Ronan, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jonathan Lipnicki needs a kicking.

rosemary, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That Lipnicki kid is a little bastard, how does he get work?

Nicole, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He's not afraid of mice. Or Tom Cruise.

Pete, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

One and the same, surely.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That kid in the commercial for Like Mike is Lipnicki? *cry*

Vinnie, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually, Chris, the critics back Geeta -- here's Slate's summary: "Decent notices for this kids' movie starring adolescent rapper Lil Bow Wow as an orphan who becomes a basketball hero. Critics say the stock characters (an evil orphanage director, a spoiled basketball star) and by-the-numbers plot ("recycled jock piffle," USA Today's Mike Clark calls it) are at least partly redeemed by —- no kidding -— Lil Bow Wow's performance. The New York Times' Elvis Mitchell calls him "a talented actor" with "unaffected comic abilities"; the Chicago Sun-Times' Roger Ebert says he's "confident," "relaxed," and "engaging." (Read the entirety of Blurb King Kevin Thomas' disturbingly adulatory review in the Los Angeles Times, which calls the details of a scene in which old sneakers are imbued with magic powers when they're hit by lightning "too inspired to be revealed here.")

nabisco%%, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I wish Lil Bow Wow would make a movie with him dancing a lot, not playing basketball. Plus I hate Mike.

Kris, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Please!!! Bow wow as an actor he's alright nothing special. Da film is straight up shit. The plot completely tired its been done so many times THINK LITTLE BIG LEAGUE. You guys are easily impressed. As a rapper he's nothing compared to the other rappers and at 14 in 4 years time he'll be considered different at the moment he's just a kidwid talent. At 18 he'll be an average rapper, an avereage don't survive in rap, i know tons of kids that can rap better and are younger TRUST when he's 18 he'll flop.

Sos to be son neg and burst everyones bubble of bewilderment but that's the truth TRUST

Mack

I sincerely hope all the frontal nudity the film features isn't that of Lil Bow Wow himself. That just wouldn't be right. I mean really.

Sean, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Read the entirety of Blurb King Kevin Thomas' disturbingly adulatory review in the Los Angeles Times, which calls the details of a scene in which old sneakers are imbued with magic powers when they're hit by lightning "too inspired to be revealed here."

And to think I was going to see the Fast Runner instead. Kevin Thomas, you have convinced me!

Nicole, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Having been alerted to this rumor earlier today, maybe the guy should get an award just for putting up with nonsense.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 12 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ice cr?m, Thursday, 5 February 2009 18:09 (seventeen years ago)

yeah that's true but - based on the extensive research i've done watching soulja boy's youtube channel - soulja boy spends just as frivolously and probably has less money - also i think if worst came to worst bow wow could get a job doing something w/ jermaine dupri, dunno if he'd ever be out on his own broke

your infinity in you is mad lifted (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 5 February 2009 18:15 (seventeen years ago)

I wanted to see Like Mike pretty bad when it came out.

i'm shy (Abbott), Thursday, 5 February 2009 18:25 (seventeen years ago)

I don't even kind of remember why.

i'm shy (Abbott), Thursday, 5 February 2009 18:25 (seventeen years ago)

who does an abbot support in this feud btw?

k3vin k., Thursday, 5 February 2009 18:32 (seventeen years ago)

one year passes...

I made some people watch Like Mike with me on cable TV, and I realized 3/4 of the way through that I was pretty sure I'd already seen it. Either I'd already seen it, or it is just reallllly predictable. I actually have no idea which one is true.

I think I'd watch it again.

This is four-dimensional art; the 4th dimension is incredibly powerful. (Abbott), Wednesday, 5 May 2010 23:11 (sixteen years ago)
