Fahkin Dud you fahkin kants. Etc.

DavidM, Sunday, 21 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Classic! I saw it again last week for the first time since it had been in theaters, I liked it much better this time around (seemed much shorter too).

Dud. It's utterly horrible - funny in places but generally offensive. It smacks of all the worst possible stereotypes: gypsies aren't to be trusted; black people are really cool but ultimately a bit thick; women aren't allowed on screen at all, apart from one, and she gets burnt to death in a very nasty way.

Nope, D to the U to the D.

matt did you find attack of the clones to be racist towards hispanics as well?

keith, Sunday, 21 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I liked the whippet-rabbit chase, because I like dags.

Everything wrong with UK cinema, which it seems took much longer to get over Pulp Fiction than US cinema did.

I liked Brad Pitt and his fight scene. Otherwise it was just "Lock, Stock..." all over again.

bnw, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Big fat dud. Easy casual racism and xenophobia and mockney wanker public schoolboys thinking they're 'ard added to a pisspoor heist/farce rehash of lock stock = rub.

Nathan Barley, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

haha "guy ritchie got his scar by falling off his pony onto his silver spoon" = my favourite j.burchill line for MANY MANY YEARS (since "phil collins looks as if he's wearing a bank-robber's stocking mask even when he isn't", in fact). Her fave too, obv, seeing as she haf used it abt 35 times in difft pieces.

mark s, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought it was great. Gypsies portrayed as being hard as fuck and able to outwit any twunt who tries it on with them. Nice.

DV, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Dud of black-hole proportions. On par with Moulin Rouge and Reqiuem For a Dream.

adam, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Bah. Spot the it's-too-hot-to-type q-u-i switcharound fun.

adam, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Classic. enough said.

Chris, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree with Chris. The movie's good, too. (HAW HAW HAW HAW)

Dan Perry, Monday, 22 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I saw a movie called Snatch Wars once and it did not look anything like that, tbh.
