jel --, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

There must be a 'How creepy are you' test somewhere on the internet.

N., Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Question 1.

Did you manage to locate this test yourself.

the end.

If mostly yes award yourself 100 points. you are a total creep.

Ronan, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

so does that make you the creep for posting or us the creep for reading?>

mark s, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

this is the closest I can find.

N., Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom, can you expand on the first question? I can't notice anything changed. Then again I haven't checked the board that much lately.

nathalie, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ronan, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I used to fear being creepy, but then I figured out that it's a good sign of character. Because, whats the opposite of creepy? Wholesome? Mild Mannered? Thats not good.

Most often, people a creeped out by the strange or obsessed. But how can you get anywhere in life if your not strange or obsessed?

But if you mean creepy-horny, then that's bad. I don't want to be thought of as creepy-horny.

Chief White Lotus, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh good lord, if this ain't trolling...

You sure are obsessed with your 'character', aren't you? I don't know why I'm bothering, but I'm sure it's fairly obvious to the relatively sane and "successful" that obsession would be a hindrance, not an asset, in "getting anywhere". Unless that "anywhere" is jail, an institution or subsidized housing. Self-control, you know?

Dean Air, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I disagree. Almost every person whom has ever amounted to anything, changed the world, achieved anything that takes difficulty, ect, has been obsessed. This goes from Martin Luther King, to Britney Spears, to your average medical student. There are unhealthy obsessions, but... jeez, why am I even responding to you.

And of course, to be strange is to be original and/or innovative.

Me, trolling? What a hostile post! I though this was the "I love everything" forum.

JEEZ!

Chief White Lotus, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think you confuse dedication with obsession. When you are obsessed, you are trapped and have no self-control. Or perhaps you have given up self-control. Furthermore, you yourself equate 'creepiness' with obsession. Therefore, by your 'logic' Britney Spears and Martin Luther King Jr. are both 'creepy'.

Dean Air, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah! Your non hostile tone feels great! (Is that a creepy thing to say?)

Anyway, I think that alot of people were probably creeped out by Martin Luther King, before he got his own holiday. And Britney too, before she bacame a sexy sensation. I mean, it is weird to be around people who are totally focused on soemthing that you could give a rats ass about. I'm sure MLK's drinking budddies were all like "C'mon Mart! Quit with the speech writing already! Let's down some brews!" and Britneys friends all talked behind her back and called her a bitch for being so perfect that it was "creepy". But of course, that only guess work on my part. Dedication, by my definition, is the ability to persevere through difficulties to gain and ultimate goal. And I think of it as an effect rather than a cause in temrs of it's place in a person's psyche. Dedication can be caused by many things, upbringing involving work ethics, need to prove ones self due to low self esteme, ect. But if the dedication is long lasting and deeply felt, obsession is likely to be the cause. It's the only one that tends to defy logic, and therefore stand up against all logically difusion devices.

Now, like I said, there are unhealthy, destructive obsessions. Thats mental illness. But only by virtue of them being unhealthy, not by the virtue of them being obsessions. And of, everything in moderation, even obsession. Likewise, people can have fixations, a type of obsession, which tend to be totally non-constructive and wierd. Those are always creepy in a bad way....................................................

Chief White Lotus, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

britney spears is definitely creepy. mlk arguably not creepy, seems to have been nice enough fellow. i have not felt creepy around here, and hopefully have not given rise to creepy feelings in others. for some reason i'm thinking of henry rollins' "creepy crawl" tattoo with the spider.

Ron, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ron - me and liz said exactly the same thing last night when we saw the vid for "hit me baby one more time".

di, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

you guys started thinking about rollins' tattoos while watching britney spears?!?!

Ron, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

no we said "oh mi god britney is soooo creepy!"

di, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(-; ooh backwards it's like he's got a lazy eye

Ron, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

jel --, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Geez, you say creep[y] like it's a BAD thing! all i wanted was to kidnap a few of you and keep you in the kitchen cupboards for when i'm lonely and ILE's down. IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK??!

petra jane, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)
