born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

some veggie dumplings, lots of beer and about 14 tons of udon in veggie broth at wagamamas. i was SOO STUFFED afterwards that this probably qualifies as my "most you've ever eaten" answer as well...

katie, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

what's udon

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Noodles mmm. I had some chicken kebaby things then UDON NOODLES with prawns and mushrooms and a bunch of other stuff and unlike SOME wussy ILE people round here I managed to finish it all and not leave ANYTHING on my plate. Num num.

Emma, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

sounds good - very good - havent been to waggamummas in a while - a trip there me thinks

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

*burp* oh 'scuse me... ;)

katie, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Udon noodles = big thick white noodles = num num. Though I was a wuss and failed to finish my plate

RickyT, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

no dinner, just bar snax :-(

Alan T, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I didn't eat the plate! Just everything on it. Asserting myself with the staff worked up a real appetite.

Emma, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

born clippy = anthony, and I claim my 5,000,000,000,000,000 Turkish lira!

zebedee, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Curry and fried rice and some chicken and sweetcorn soup. I got lazy and ordered a takeaway, they had a new operator on the phones and she didn't understand anything, she was chinese I guess. So about an hour after I ordered the guy in the car rang my house and was like "so where is this ord mamma place, OH! ard na mara, right ,that new girl is a nuisance".

Ronan, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anthony, come on now admit it!! (snigger!)

Pinkpanther, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't remember.

Is there history behind Emma's sudden attack of plate-eating paranoia?

Graham, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh veggie hotdogs btw!!!

Pinkpanther, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I had duck gyoza and number 72 which is a nummy curry with sticky rice in a curry sauce and deep fried aubergine, sweet potato and PUMPKIN! Super yum yums!

Sarah, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

chicken, rice and mushrooms.

jel --, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

entrecote 'n' frites

Jeff W, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hastily cooked rice and balti curry from a tin, then loads of toast and chocolate biscuits when I got home from Sage Francis at 1am. Having two dinners = great.

Archel, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

haha my wagamamas meal included a teenytiny v.pretty exotic snailshell!! i assume a parasite on one of the more orthodox shellfish i actually ordered!!

mark s, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

so you all had dinner at the same place?

jel --, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Three glasses of red wine and six Camel Lights.

Anna, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

any tissue with that super model quisine

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry cuisine

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

some slices of Speck, marinated and grilled artichokes and aubergines, some little onions in balsamic vinegar (the poshest pickled onions evah!) some organic bread and Orangina rouge, on a bench in Richmond Par.

chris, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

we all went to wagamamas yes, but each of went to a different one AT EXACTLY THE SAME TIME and pretended we were the food correspondent of LOADED

emma won haha *ducks* i mean *dodges*

mark s, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I always win. I am a very fast eater. Blink and you miss it.

Emma, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a big-ass veggie burrito at the local better-than-okay-but-not- quite-classy faux mexican place.

Dan I., Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But if you don't blnk she'll eat your eyeballs too. Oddly I had Duck Gyoza and then something very similar to Starry but with chicken instead of pumpkin.

Pete, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna: 'Three glasses of red wine and six Camel Lights'

Is someone pretending to be Anna from This Life?

Tim Bateman, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is someone pretending to be a twat?

Archel, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A twat who can't close his tags properly.

RickyT, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I made carrot, ginger and lemon soup. It was nice.

Ellie, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I had the duck thing and the prawn and chicken and udon thing. I didn't lick my plate clean like greedy Emma but I ate lots more than Ricky T. Then I had a lovely aperitif of Ayingerbrau while talking to the people from You-kip.

Tom, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I made sausage links, mashed potatoes, and spinach casserole. And there are leftovers! Yum yum.

rosemary, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

you-kip's secret bible:

http://www.churchillbooks.com/images/2838a.jpg

mark s, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You had an aperitif post dinner? Does this mean you went to KFC on yr way home?

RickyT, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a tooth-gap-friendly bowl of soup with soft bread, sob. This was after the bowl of chips in the pub of course.

Tim, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Most damning sign of You-kips foolishness = inability to distinguish between UK and England.

RickyT, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I AM NOT GREEDY I JUST HAVE A HEALTHY APPETITE. All right? And I only actually lick the plate when I am home alone. In public I use my fingers.

Emma, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Emma in tongue on fingers shockah!

Pete, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It makes typing all the more exciting.

Emma, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

do any of you britisher types want to open a Wagamamma in New York? it would make obscene amounts of money, i'm certain of it.

Dave M., Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

they could but there frogs from china town out of the buckets - creepy but kinda cool place i thought

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry thats buy not but

born clippy, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Last night I had a Rustlers microwavable cheeseburger, which is probably the only good brand of microwavable cheeseburger available anywhere. The only thing crap about it is the sachet of ketchup, you have to throw it away and use Heinz. Aside from that - nums!

Christopher Lyons, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mmmm last night saw bean/potato/chervil salad thingie nestled up to salmon steak and some citrus butter carrot glazey things - beeeg french-style dinner cooked up by the redoubtable nicole that lasted 3+ hours. we downed loads of sugary white wine that made my head hurt this morning. n****a going on and on and on about nothing at all; the reverse-angle reaction shots wd have been priceless - "and the innkeeper had on the nicest green dress" "what does this have to do with rhubarb?"

TIP FOR NEW YORKERS: every day the bakery at Balthazar has 1/2 price off everything (including DESSERTS) between 8 and 9 pm

Tracer Hand, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You and that chef roommate of yours, Tracer. I'M SICK OF IT, D'YER HEAR? ;-)

Last night = spicy mahi-mahi taco, rice, beans, lemonade, all at Wahoo's, all for under $5. Heaven.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Last night I had the huge slice of pizza with eggplant at Nini's for $2.63. 1 slice there is 1/2 a pizza anywhere else. The t-shirts say size matters...

brg30, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually Mr Bateman that is my life, rather than This Life for better or worse. You aren't really striking up a brilliant raport with the women on these boards are you?

Anna, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He does have rather a bit of hate in his heart.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This is sad because (as with Katie and Tim B) I know both parties, and I cannot even begin to describe how much Tim would adore Anna in person.

Martin Skidmore, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not that anyone asked me, but "dinner dinner batman" would make a most excellent rebus.

Aimless, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Less dinner dinner more Batman.

Leee, Friday, 26 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
tonight:

sliced mushrooms, shallots, and garlic sauteed in a quarter-cup organic salted butter
over three small golden potatoes

possibly 12 but more likely 24 oz of stag beer.

teeny (teeny), Sunday, 7 March 2004 22:05 (twenty-two years ago)

three years pass...
tonight:

tj's turkey meatballs and a simple sauce of roasted organic tomatoes and safflower oil

microgreens with sesame dressing

water

lunch was banana-strawberry gelato and an iced coffee

one month passes...

In a rare turn of events, I cooked tonight! While I'm definitely not a food photographer, I can assure you that both of the following were delicious:

Vegetarian Paella:

and

Raspberry and Peach Cobbler:

two months pass...

tonight i'm going to have chicken sausage & onions, and maybe some green beans if i can work up the effort to snip their li'l tails off.

get bent, Thursday, 6 September 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

Weeknight Country Captain (a stupid name for a chicken dish with raisins and apples in the sauce, served over rice), plus some Schwan's spinach and artichoke bread bowl appetizers. I made snickerdoodle cookies yesterday, so that's probably dessert.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 6 September 2007 00:15 (eighteen years ago)

dessert: pieces of candied ginger

get bent, Thursday, 6 September 2007 01:07 (eighteen years ago)

Salad, followed by berry sherbet.

B.L.A.M., Thursday, 6 September 2007 03:34 (eighteen years ago)

We have discovered the awesomeness of lentils around here. Finally something that my wife and I can agree on for dinner.

Rock Hardy, Thursday, 6 September 2007 03:44 (eighteen years ago)

ENBB, Monday, 14 January 2008 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

Your food looks fucking fantastic, ENBB! I want your cobbler and curry the most, but I have never had paella so maybe I would really like that, too.

Abbott, Monday, 14 January 2008 05:00 (eighteen years ago)

No one believes me that my friend has a camera with a "food" setting. Well, she does, and it's awesome.

Abbott, Monday, 14 January 2008 05:00 (eighteen years ago)

Wow - I want that camera!

ENBB, Monday, 14 January 2008 13:40 (eighteen years ago)
