Thanx! I like the fact that so many people seem to have problems eating infront of strangers, I've got that & now I feel normal again!

Being alone in a house at night, and it gets worse the larger the house is.

I am afraid of being buried alive.

This is as a result of reading The Pit and The Pendulum when I was about 12. I had nightmares for ages afterwards. Even now I am all grown up, I cannot bear having the duvet/sheets/blankets/sleeping bag/whatever over my head because I am convinced I will suffocate.

I am also not terribly fond of clowns, but this might not actually be severe enough to be classed as a phobia.

This is interesting, CJ, because I wonder if it might not be just Poe's fault. I am terrified of narrow tunnels, getting caught so that I can't get out - I particularly fear the constriction around my chest, and not being able to breathe freely. I make this connection and claim it is interesting because we have both nearly died from asthma, so I wonder if this might be an expression of that?
