Memories don't live like people do

Interpret this line. It is a line out of the FANTASTIC Angie Stone song which has been on repeat the last couple of hours here. hah!

What are your fondest memories? How far do they reach back?

New Memories.

I unfortunately have a incredible memory, especially for the bad humilliating things that happen to me so i keep repeating them over and over and over. I wish my memory sux00red(at least i managed to erase most of 1998, dullest year EVAH)

I am like this too, and I hate it. Like when I'm falling asleep at night or in the shower or something, and I start thinking of something really stupid I said in the ninth grade. Argh!

Yer, it's like the bit in High Fidelity [book] where he goes over and over and over the conversation with the ex's new man, perfecting it to make himself the pinnacle of wit. Only in reverse, taking some glancing blow of some rejection or catty comment untill it was the most UTTERLY MORTIFYING THING EVER!

Oh i'm so so glad that isn't just me, though.

aw, this makes me feel better. other people do stupid things too? and then AGONIZE over them? somehow that's quite comforting

Maria, Saturday, 27 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Maria, im the king of stupidity

Human existence is very much time bound. We judge our lives by the past and what we want to do in the future. But often forget about today. That's how I interpret that line.

Right with you there. I can remember completely and horribly embarassing moments from grade school all too clearly, everything else not so much...

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a shocking memory and thus don't know if I ever did anything embarassing.

My memory is appallingly bad. It's actually the cause of much anxiety. My ex-girlfriend used to bristle at how I'd forget the most crucial anecdotes/stories.

Soon I'll be giving myself tattoos.

Just don't start living your life backwards.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

How would I know?

Mark, Sunday, 28 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Im with you Mark. My memory is mostly bad but my best friend has a good one so I can use her as a reference. Mostly I never do dumb things and If I did I am too proud to be dwelling on them.
I was listening to Angie Stone yesterday too!!
almost forgot the original question, I remember stuff only from about 5. I was into swinging on vines in my backyard and being naked in mud and playing ninjas.

That line is originally from "Travellin' Man" by Mos Def and Honda unless they ripped it as well......the line following this one is "they always remember you....whether things are good or bad"
