- something like that was the headline on yahoo. It's true - BILL CLINTON has (breaking with presidential protocol?) answered some interviewers' questions in ways hostile to GWB.

In fact the verb was Clinton RIPS Bush.

breaking with presidential protocol?

I know that this is supposed to be a fun and funny thread, but something serious should be said ... there is no "Presidential protocol" concerning former Presidents criticizing sitting Presidents. If there were, Monkeyboy's own Daddy broke that "protocol" countless times w/r/2 Clinton.

Clinton got sick of having the Monkey and the Monkey's flunkies trying to pin all of their mistakes and faults on him and his administration. This "Presidential protocol" lie is their cheap and sleazy attempt, by a cheap and sleazy Administration, to sidetrack Clinton's comments into a non-issue.

Back to this thread's regularly-scheduled programming ...

Tadeusz - I share your take on this. Even if there was a protocol, I'd be happy to see Clinton pulverize it to reply to Bush. I agree that GWB & co are bastards for their rhetoric re. the previous administration - and for everything else, of course. And I would love to see Bill C really let rip against them, but I don't think it's likely.

I really liked the very basic, childlike sense of fair play he evoked with regard to being blamed for the breakdown in Israel: "I didn't blame his dad for Somalia, did I?" It plays up the obvious thing here: if Clinton's semi-violating the "talk nice about your presidential successors" rule, it's almost solely because of the Bush administration's unprecedented neglect of the "don't blame everything on the previous administration" rule.

Honestly, has any recent administration been quite so bad about responsibility-taking? Almost every negative event or trend thus far as been either pointed at Clinton or cast as an unfortunate eventuality in our far-more-important "War on Terrorism."

The "Clinton did it!" schtick is red meat for this (Mal) administration's base voters. The dumbfucks who believe that Fox really is "fair and balanced," listen religiously to Rush Limbaugh, think that Ann Coulter really is a "Constitutional scholar," and believe that Gore v. Bush was decided correctly. That lot is attracted to Clinton-bashing like flies are attracted to shit.
