I'm actually liking this show, granted it would have been much better if it was Fraternity Life. But its just like I am back in college, after a few drinks and repeated viewings these girls look attractive.

Chris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah Chris, what a sweet talker you are;>

Nichole Graham, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i know, im smooth.

Chris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I actually think it would have been dreadful if it were fraternity life - where would be all the catty, high-pitched "drama" ? true everyone would wind up fucking everyone else's temporary "girlfriend" at some point, but who would care? as far as this show goes, it's surprisingly good, but i think the patrician-looking ringletted blonde is very sinister and just hates Jessica for no reason and is trying to alienate her

V, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

omigod that is like so totally true, v, what a skank

nabisco, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

for real, she's like so totally a MAJOR spaz

V, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is jessica an eskimo?

Chris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is jessica an eskimo?

This the greatest thing I've read today.

Dan Perry, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

as far as i knew she seemed Hispanic, but I'm not an expert on such things

V, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

she screams igloo every time i look at her. and for some reason i can see her having a whale blubber mattress.

Chris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

and for some reason DeDe looks exceptionally hot here but if you look at jessica, she looks like an eskimo.

Chris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I hate this show. They've defiled my town! Get the fuck out of Davis! I got extrememly uncomfortable after watching about 3 minutes of these hideous skanks.

Kris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

JESSICA MUST STAY!!

mark s, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

When the show is on, I can;t pay attention to it. I literally can not do it. I have the vauge sense of the events of one episode, something about a girl who is insecure, but thats all I remember. And that episode, well, I can;t say that I "watched it", but it was on the telivision in my presence several times. I just can't pay attention.

I wonder if thats the kind of date that I am.

Cheif White Lotus, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I <3 JEW GIRLS!

chaki, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

DeDe looks exceptionally hot here

Chris I have just lost all faith in you.

nabisco, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Note: I have never seen this program.

nabisco, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

IT IS INUIT
the word you are using is a racial slur.

anthony, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

it wasn't meant to be a racial slur, but thanks for reminded me to be more PC.

Chris, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

one of my good friends is on the show and i cannot watch it still because IT IS THE DULLEST REALITY SHOW EVER

bc, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mara is classic but the rest is dud...it's a boring show with even more boring cast..and looking at that mtv link with the interview just proves it...plus mtv can't even bother to sync up audio with video...that's lame

jack, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The episode where Candace drank while being Sober Sister and then got that phone call from Jessica was CLASSIC beyond words. I mean, I knew it was all going to happen and everything, but it was still funny as hell. (At least Candace was smart enough to remember the cameras and not jump behind the wheel of the car, unlike RWH Ruthie.)

Dan Perry, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is their's a jewish sorority? if so than jessica surely isn't hispanic. inuit i say.

Ms. S., Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

im assuming that its not a strictly Jewish sorority but i think the majority of the girls pride themselves on their Judaism and the Greek letters they use are accompanied by a star of David. boxedcube: im sorry you are friends with one of these people. both points of view they're showing are pretty unattractive. you're either friends with a snobby Jew girl that revolves their whole life around a stupid club or an image obsessed skank ho.

chaki, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What exactly is the function of the "Jew girl" part of that statement, Chaki?

nabisco, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think it's the subject of a nominative clause.

Dan Perry, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

mara is classic

She's 21 years old and wants to be Brittney Spears?? ssnnoozzee

brg30, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

im just playing up the stereotypes the show itself is portraying. it really is like a "innocent, religous (their religion being Judaism), kind of geeky looking group of girls" vs the "partying, not so religious, hot group of girls." when they were getting drunk in the hot tub they said "Should we be upset that we're not doing mitvahs?"

chaki, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"next week on Soro-hos" Jessica gets slapped by some girl none of us knows, after a conversation none of us understands. Be sure to tune in next week, when none of this will be cleared up, but the sisters will have a meeting about it.

chaki, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i thought jodran was awfully rude tonight. and jessica probably has a secret lesbian crush on sylvia, so i bet she really liked getting slapped, deep down

V, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought eskimo was originally a french/canadian word...esquimo or somthing. Is it really a slur? We're screening 'the fast runner' at work this week so there has been heated dabate..

turner, Monday, 29 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

'Esquimaux' derives from 'eater of raw flesh' and was not, I think, a well-intentioned label. Anthony obv knows more about how/when it has been resisted/replaced.

Ellie, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

they call the "inuit" cock blocker as her nickname. They don't need to call her anything, just looking at her is reason enough. I know im being mean, but damn is she a sight.

Chris, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Eskimo has come under strong attack in recent years for its supposed offensiveness, and many Americans today either avoid this term or feel uneasy using it. It is widely known that Inuit, a term of ethnic pride, offers an acceptable alternative, but it is less well understood that Inuit cannot substitute for Eskimo in all cases, being restricted in usage to the Inuit-speaking peoples of Arctic Canada and parts of Greenland. In Alaska and Arctic Siberia, where Inuit is not spoken, the comparable terms are Inupiaq and Yupik, neither of which has gained as wide a currency in English as Inuit. While use of these terms is often preferable when speaking of the appropriate linguistic group, none of them can be used of the Eskimoan peoples as a whole; the only inclusive term remains Eskimo. ·The claim that Eskimo is offensive is based primarily on a popular but disputed etymology tracing its origin to an Abenaki word meaning ?eaters of raw meat.? Though modern linguists speculate that the term actually derives from a Montagnais word referring to the manner of lacing a snowshoe, the matter remains undecided, and meanwhile many English speakers have learned to perceive Eskimo as a derogatory term invented by unfriendly outsiders in scornful reference to their neighbors' unsophisticated eating habits. See Usage Note at Inuit.

Chris, Tuesday, 30 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ooh, drama last night. the curly blond non-eskimo kissed the "i fell off the ugly tree and hit every fuckin branch on the way down" love of her life. Right in front of her no less.

Chris, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Im glad I went to a university that did not have a single sorority or fratenity if you dont count the football team.
and for chissakes stop calling her an eskimo.

mr noodles, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Who wants to be ordinary
In this crazy mixed up world?
I don't care what they're sayin'
As long as you're my girl!"
©2002 by some 8 year old whiney girl

Karl J Kretzschmar, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

noodles, you lucky lucky bastard. they're starting to take over my school despite the fact that we already have a perfectly good system of 'eating clubs'. they're kind of like frats and sororities, except they're co-ed, have no degrading schmooze rituals to get in (at least mine didn't). why anyone would actually WANT those things boggles my feeble little mind.

Dave M., Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey my university was only 2250 people, smaller then a University of Toronto intro to bio course.

Mr Noodles, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

two weeks pass...
I think that 8 year old whiney girl is Michelle Branch, isn't it?

jrosey, Thursday, 29 August 2002 03:16 (twenty-three years ago)

man i love this show so much.

chaki (chaki), Thursday, 29 August 2002 03:36 (twenty-three years ago)

There are lots of pictures!

Tina Jones, Wednesday, 11 September 2002 03:30 (twenty-three years ago)

chaki (chaki), Wednesday, 11 September 2002 04:30 (twenty-three years ago)

she and mara decided not to pledge.

maura (maura), Wednesday, 11 September 2002 12:07 (twenty-three years ago)

The finale was HILARIOUS. Watching Jordan shit all over the initiation ceremony was FANTASTIC.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 11 September 2002 12:21 (twenty-three years ago)

JESSICA IS JUST A FAT MEXICAN,THAT'S ALL.

unique user name, Thursday, 12 September 2002 02:24 (twenty-three years ago)

The finale was HILARIOUS. Watching Jordan shit all over the initiation ceremony was FANTASTIC.

I can't believe I got addicted to this show, but yes it was. Those sorority girls were so unbelievably self-righteous, it was fun to watch them have their little ceremony disrupted.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 12 September 2002 11:06 (twenty-three years ago)

It was a perfect 1-2 punch:

MARA: I'm sorry, but I can't go through initiation right now. I just don't think it's the right time for me. There are reasons for it, but I won't get into that now. Thank you.

JORDAN: I'm not doing initiation either because some of you are evil bitches that should be staked on an anthill. Fuck you and your lice-ridden mothers, you haggard freaks. I hope the evil pulsing through your veins erupts from you forehead in a fountain of gore and bile, much like the copious acne that your 800 pounds of makeup can't conceal. Much love to Becca, though.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 12 September 2002 12:43 (twenty-three years ago)

(The above is a paraphrase, not a verbatim quote.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 12 September 2002 13:16 (twenty-three years ago)

First post. I too am suprised of my addiction to this show. I'm kind of upset it's over. I don't have anything else to watch. Woe is me.

Michelle, Sunday, 15 September 2002 09:12 (twenty-three years ago)

five months pass...
Revive for part two and my wish came true, Fraternity life. Im already annoyed at the girls in this seasons Sorority. The voice on that Talia makes me cringe. They seem to be quite stuck up?

The Frat boys make me want to puke.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 27 February 2003 15:15 (twenty-three years ago)

The Frat boys make me want to puke.

This is an accurate statement about all frat boys ever.

Nicole (Nicole), Thursday, 27 February 2003 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

especially that one with the curly afro.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 27 February 2003 15:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Apparently Chris V. is the sole demographic for this show.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Thursday, 27 February 2003 15:45 (twenty-three years ago)

yup.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:00 (twenty-three years ago)

This is an accurate statement about all frat boys ever.

There were two exceptions in my experience. As this is out of a population of thousands, it doesn't speak well for them.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I used to run around saying I hated frat boys. Then I realized that my brother, uncle, father and at least one cousin were all "frat boys" and I really liked them all.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:43 (twenty-three years ago)

(Yes, I would literally dash back and forth shouting, "ARGH FRATBOYS! YOU ARE THE BANE TO MY EXISTENCE! A POX ON YOU ALL! AVAUNT!")

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:44 (twenty-three years ago)

My dad was a frat boy and president of his at that. In fact I was conceived in Beta Chi's frat house. I like beer now.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:46 (twenty-three years ago)

In fact I was conceived in Beta Chi's frat house.

I'm trying to imagine the resultant engrams. Are you fully clear now?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:50 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm ok, i think. Hehe.

Chris V. (Chris V), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Yay. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 27 February 2003 16:56 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...

That's awesome.

hahahaha

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 9 April 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

That is indeed awesome. It's what Charlotte in NYC might say twenty years hence.
