Libra is one of the more popular star signs. Those born under it are known for their fairmindedness and ability to form lasting friendships.

are you a Libran?

DV (dirtyvicar), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes I am. 17th October is my birthday.

MarKH, Tuesday, 27 August 2002 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

Nope, I'm Aries.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 15:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm a Libran too, but (apparently) not a typical one.

Tim (Tim), Tuesday, 27 August 2002 15:10 (twenty-three years ago)

yes im libran but i worked out that i have like cancer risings and other water sign thingees all over the show, oh plus i was born on the cusp of scorpio and stuff...but i am just so damn cute and indecisive that i guess i am inescapably libran.

angeline, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 04:46 (twenty-three years ago)

scorpios are jerks

boxcubed (boxcubed), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 04:51 (twenty-three years ago)

God, i got to see my [Libran] mother have panic attacks over rye or whole-grain bread in the supermarket last week...indecisiveness is not always so cute. Well, sometimes.

Damian to thread! Damian to thread!

petra jane (petra jane), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 06:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, very.

stevo (stevo), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 06:06 (twenty-three years ago)

i don't consider myself one, but I am probably one: I was born on 2nd October; plus being sweet, talkative, indecisive, sociable, love parties and cocktails, hopeless at driving and other practical questions, just worried about how things look more than they work.

And bad news: overconcerned about my appearance and prone to love flattering

arantxa, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 06:37 (twenty-three years ago)

i aim to have a different birth-sign every day of the year: so far i only failed once, when i was polypticon three wednesdays in a row in 1985, because of exams my sistrah was taking => but i blame this on the wednesday jam not myself

mark s (mark s), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 06:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I share Arantxa's birthday but don't appear to fit the profile.

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 06:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Cancer. 'Cos rhythm is a dancer.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 08:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Is Turbo B a Libran?

MarkH, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 08:42 (twenty-three years ago)

You rang, Petra? I wish I weren't Libran sometimes, what with the terminal anxiety, but then there's the ability Librans supposedly have to see both sides of a situation. We're also cranky and have trouble finishing what we start, but Gandhi was a Libran.

Damian (Damian), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 08:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I promise not to tell them about the soccer shirt incident, D.

petra jane (petra jane), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:13 (twenty-three years ago)

my little brother is a libran. he rocks the party.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 20:03 (twenty-three years ago)

im a capricorn, what does that mena.

anthony easton (anthony), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 21:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Gandhi's birthday is 2nd October too, RickyT! AND GRAHAM GREENE!

arantxa, Thursday, 29 August 2002 06:04 (twenty-three years ago)

three years pass...
Revive for nu-ILM. Why are there so many threads about librarians and only, like two about Librans.

Just balancing things out a bit ;-)

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 01:31 (twenty years ago)

Oh.
I see.
People born during that 30 day period have the same qualities!
That's cool!

peepee (peepee), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 01:35 (twenty years ago)

peepee, that's a very original argument.

5/oct/80. In defense of this thread, I have a love/hate relationship with stuff like this - I can also be quite superstitious and I hate this. I'd like to be able to say "fuck this nonsense" but generally I've found some descriptions almost spookily uncanny, even down to the fact Libras often have a dimpled chin and heart-shaped mouth. I'd rather it just didn't exist or that I could ignore it.
Other traits? Yeh, I spend much of my life avoiding confrontations and trying to iron out arguments between others, and I'd rather be called a pussy than get in a pointless argument or fight. Ironically this can actually piss people off too since I won't often slam my foot down and shout "NO I'M RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG". I mean, this whole post has been a contradiction.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 01:42 (twenty years ago)

I wasn't trying to be original,
just sarcastic,
as is the trait of all those whose birthday is near mine.

peepee (peepee), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 01:56 (twenty years ago)

i was being sarcastic as well.

Vintage Latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:01 (twenty years ago)

One of the other traits that "we" have is to not recognize sarcasm in others. Surprisingly, this leads to many unique experiences daily.

peepee (peepee), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:05 (twenty years ago)

i'm a libra. i think i'm like a lot of people in that i don't have any use whatsoever for astrology, and yet i've always kind of identified with my sign. 'yes,' i think to myself, 'i'm a very fair-minded person. i like things to balance.'

i think it's hard when you hear something like that as a kid not to identify with it to some degree, if just to have something to identify with.

or maybe that's just a very libra way of looking at it.

good stuff like Forer effect, confirmation bias, selective thinking.

[email protected], Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:21 (twenty years ago)

i have a dimpled chin!

but, um, so does my dad (not a libra). and my son (ditto).

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:27 (twenty years ago)

gypsy, are being sarcastic? I can't tell.

peepee (peepee), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:29 (twenty years ago)

maybe, maybe not. it all balances out.

gypsy mothra (gypsy mothra), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:36 (twenty years ago)

just like you libranians

peepee (peepee), Tuesday, 21 February 2006 02:38 (twenty years ago)

I'm a Libra-Scorpio cusp officially, but I'm definitely a Scorpio.

scorpios are jerks

We know, but we're trying not to be, and that's hard to do without turing certain things off, which in turn makes us seem somewhat less than warm, which makes us seem even more like assholes. No way out.
