Help I'm a (D-list) Celebrity - No-ones Watching Me

Or are they. After all with a short reality TV show with such minor personalities we are hardly likely to know all that much about them in the first place. Instead of our knee jerk Big Brother first day reactions we did the knee jerk reactions years ago - now we are presented with them as real - if exceedingly vain - people.

So have you seen it? Is it good TV?

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 08:27 (twenty-three years ago)

it's too annoying to watch compulsively.

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:23 (twenty-three years ago)

It's not that good TV. Some celebs are more annoying than I thought they would be, others are less - but the whole thing is too bitty.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Every time I read this thread I imagine some deranged minor celeb singing "I always feel like, noone is watching me".

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:39 (twenty-three years ago)

i watched for TPT getting covered in crud, but yes it is WAY too fragmented, and i just don't have the energy to care about the arguments. i shan't bother with nigel benn in the snakes. i should have watched The Ship instead. anyone seen that?

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:44 (twenty-three years ago)

They keep running the same inserts over and over again, and I can't be doing with that. It's clearly no Banged Up With Beadle (which had the added humiliation of being (mostly) an ITV2 thing.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:46 (twenty-three years ago)

and Britain's Sexiest Teachers? what not-so-fresh HELL was that? last night's TV was appalling.

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Did you not watch The Man Who Knew Too Little, Alan?

(I fixed that link underscore problem)

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 09:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Last night's TV was great! Eastenders + When Tony Booth met Pat Phoenix (or maybe the other way round) which was v. tragic & romantic + started watching Sex with Your Ex but the people in it were so vile and boring I fell asleep.

Emma, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 11:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I watched Monday's Six Feet Under but I fear I may have missed a multichannel treat.

Graham (graham), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 11:51 (twenty-three years ago)

You MENTALISTS - did none of you watch TEENAGE KICKS: WITCH CRAZE??

Best line ever:

Mandala is 15 and recently became a vampire after meeting Justin on a bus in Peckham"

PENGE MORE LIKE.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Sadly the sex with your ex bores had sent me to sleep by then. I blame Bev and Duncan for keeping me from teenage witchcraft.

Emma, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah it looked rubbidge - we watched tapes of ANGLE instead and I scoffed loads of avocado and bread and fell asleep, curses.

Sarah (starry), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

is there a celebrity big brother in the uk?

some us 'celebs' (cough cough) have become reality-show sluts. kato kaelin, coolio, barry williams ...

maura (maura), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Eastenders is flagging again after the much improved week long special we had 2 or 3 weeks back. (flagging = anything to do with lisa, who should shoot herself this time, not phil)

Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:36 (twenty-three years ago)

But what about the evil scheming of Janine in an effort to win Billy's heart? Or the reappearance of Barry & Nat (OK he's a twat but come on Nat, have an affair with Ricky like in the old days)? And, er, Martin's driving lessons? And stuff...

Emma, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:47 (twenty-three years ago)

Uri took his Exeter shirt, therefore classic. Sorry.

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:53 (twenty-three years ago)

We thought of you when we saw that, Tim. Bless.

Emma, Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:56 (twenty-three years ago)

We were waiting for you to come up with that. Exeter will certainly go down now.

(Barnet were on Sky on Monday and who did they get as the summarizer - only Tony Cockfarming Cottee).

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 28 August 2002 12:57 (twenty-three years ago)
