Who'd have imagined that Mark wasn't a leading DIY expert and washing machine repairperson?

it is neva a good sign when you have to resort to using a stanley knife when cleaning the lino

I thought the thread title read 'fetal fluid' and I was wondering what David Cronenberg was doing living with Mark S.

um, once the cable thingy connecting the washing machine to the water supply did break off at 2 am i think. thankfully i was awake otherwise there would have been a flood.

i've got an exam at 2pm tomorrow (a chat abt my report but i'm really fucking nervous), which is why i post now.

oh, Mark, you have to drain the machine first using the hose next to the filter. Just being helpful!

See what happens when you allow these dangerous washing devices in your home?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 7 October 2002 17:55 (twenty-three years ago)

two months pass...
When I got home on Saturday afternoon, the entire kitchen had been covered in fire extinguisher powder. Everything looks like someone has dribbled toothpaste over it: The floor, worktops, table, chairs, crockery, kettles, toasters, TVs etc etc. And not just stuff that's been left out, it's got into the cupboards too. My flatmates say that the window was laft open and at about 6 am someone from the upstairs flat came in and hosed the place down. Our flat's extinguisher is still sealed, so this seems believable. We haven't made contact with them upstairs yet, I don't think.

a) Is this stuff poisonous? Should we be using stuff that's been slimed, even after washing it?
b) Any ideas on cleaning it off? If you get it wet it just forms a paste.
c) What should we do about the people who did it?

Graham (graham), Monday, 16 December 2002 17:17 (twenty-three years ago)

You mean your flatmates?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 16 December 2002 17:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Graham HOOVER it up! and report/maim those responsible.

katie (katie), Monday, 16 December 2002 17:35 (twenty-three years ago)

It's not powder, or if it was it's been got wet, so I don't think you could hoover it. It's horrible, though t'internet tells me it's not poisonous except in large doses.

Graham (graham), Monday, 16 December 2002 17:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I was about to advise you to take large doses of it too, but now I withdraw that.
