Male/female perspectives in sexually-orientated songs

Taking Missy's 'Work It' as an example...if it was done by a male artist do you think you would like it more/less/the same?

"girls, girls all type of girls, blak white puerto rican chinese girls"

"if you got a wet (MEOW!) lemme search it..." etc.

i think i'd like it less!...is there something 'feminine' in the music as well - could it work from a male perspective just as well?

i seem to be happier listening to sexual tracks by females tho thats not to say i dont like any sex-orientated 'urban' tracks sung/performed by males (i like 'Manhood' by Viktor Dupleix, Usher's 'U Dont Have To Call' is ok tho thats more down to the Neps production - could these tracks be flipped easily and sung by females?) - i guess its hard to 'dislike' Barry White to some extent either

if you want to expand on this - what can men get away with rapping/singing about that women cant and vice versa???

I love the way that early PJ Harvey reduced sex to pure physicality ("rub it til it bleeds", "you leave me dry", "lick my legs") and I've always doubted that a male could get away with, or at least be taken seriously, with this kind of detailing of the anatomy of sex. It's like, a hypothetical "The Penis Monologues" could only be a jokey proposition.

God, yeah, that's my point in a nutshell, so to speak.

The British nu-hardcore (or whatever they're calling it nowadays) band Capdown do a cover of "Caught Out There", which is overtly distressing, as just be switching the gender of the narrator it switches from being female "you go girl!" empowerment, to a song about a guy boasting about he's kicked the shit out of his girl for cheating.

and i suppose instead of saying 'even..sucked your dick" they say "even...licked your clit" - so clever!

"Manhood" is terrific, although I think I like the instrumental more. "Never F*ck" by Romanthony is similar, but they're both funny. I think Jarvis Cocker does this stuff well, but it's always accusatory ("you should have chose me silly, oh well off with yer panties") and not especially meat-y.
