To sort of take off from my Tupac question, below: Did Big Daddy Kane ever rap about having kids? Did Notorious B.I.G. (who loved it when you called him Big Papa)? Did they even HAVE kids? I forget.

Big Daddy Kane was fuking RAW!

I think I remember something about Kane having a kid, but I can't remember if he ever rapped about it. Lyrically, he was more focused on his prowess at rapping and pulling women.

He may have (I'm smiling just imagining it), but it would've clashed with his ladies' man image, unless he was trying to push a socially concious 'real men take care of their babies' message, which if it did happen happened well after I stopped listening to him.

Big Daddy Kane, to the best of my knowledge, never mentioned any children in his rhymes. He did, however, declare that pimpin' ain't easy, and he also predicted that listening to his songs would create a paradise where Ethiopians could eat at Red Lobster for free. He also indicated that "the name Kane is superior to many people / it means King Asiatic, Nobody's Equal / I hate to brag, but damn I'm good / And if mics were a gun I'd be Clint Eastwood / and if rap was a game I'd be MVP / Most Valuable Poet on the M I C / and if rap was a school, I'd be the principal / aw, fuck it, the Kane is invincible."

On the negative side, he also declared the Big Daddy law to be "anti-faggot," and went on to clarify that "that means no homosexuality."

mike a makes a good point. the kane, for all his socialist utopianism, also had some harsh views of the role of the state: 'Is there WIC? / Are you sick? / What the hell is welfare?' o his troubled and multifaceted soul!

By the way, Big Daddy's Kane ain't so big - any of you read Madonna's "Sex?" Most penis size is directly proportional to homophobia, I've found.

there's trick daddy. he's very vocal about his love for kids. i'm not sure if he has any, though.

How could Chuck have missed Biggie referencing his daughter? "...just trying to make some money to feed my daughter"

And if may make this one thing here clear
that's for you not to come near, PERIOD
So I ain't buggin or delirious
My swift tongue's like a sword, that's how severe it is
And I can slice and dice a Fisher Price MC
that thought he was nice into Minute Rice
Single-handed, I ain't with that band stuff
Cause Cee'll scratch a record like flakes of dandruff
And the mic I ravage, not like a savage
but in my own way of doin damage
As I design the genuine line
Now who flattop rules in eighty-nine?

kenan, Monday, 2 June 2008 08:34 (eighteen years ago)

A: Your does, BDK. Your flattop rules. It is ruling still.

baaderonixx, Wednesday, 19 November 2008 10:30 (seventeen years ago)

Kane's looking in better shape these days. He'd gotten pretty chubby for a minute.
