Pop wisdom: Questionable advice in a (pop) song?

not just clear silliness or nonsense, but something that sounds kind of right or reasonable, but then when you think about it you go "hey, wait a minute..."

fer instance, "Love The One You're With" always sounded like such a nice song to me then I paid attention to that "if you can't be with the one you want" part before the titular lyric and realized that they're advocating SETTLING. how depressing.

I always thought that 'Love The One You're With' meant that if you are somewhere down that dusky rock'n'roll highway and your woman is a hundred miles away then just grab any old bit of skirt and make do with that, 'cos ol' rockers jus' gotta keep on rollin'.
