On the more pop punk side of things, I've been enjoying the Miller Lowlives album from last year. It's nothing terribly new, but they do a good Lawrence Arms impression if you enjoy that kind of thing.

was really great, the whole rowdy, shout-a-long atmosphere of a D4 show felt really cathartic after everything that's been happening.

It was Paddy's birthday so he was pretty lubricated and had a lot of words for ICE and the idea of community.

I like both of these bands

Itchy & The Nits were the cutest band I have seen... maybe ever. The cuteness is more part of their collective vibe really. We talked to them briefly and they were fucking adorable.

those are 2 bands I have been meaning to check out but haven't yet

saw GBH tonight, I've seen them several times but tonight they were really on form and the venue was a lot more suitable than last time I saw them, good atmosphere. I don't have anything punky lined up for a month or so but Flower and JJ & The A's are playing here at the end of March/beginning of April so that should be fun

really into the new landowner album "assumption" https://landowner.bandcamp.com/album/assumption (and their older stuff too)
not really sure how to describe it, it's very frantic and herky-jerky and a little devo-y but it's not egg punk, there are no synths and it's angry not goofy and it's punk but all the guitars are clean. the whole thing is good but the epic closer "normal returns to normal" is my favorite.

The Poison Ruin album seems like a big step up; production and songwriting are finally on par with their wicked Wipers-BÖC sound.

I sent the Poison Ruin link to a friend who was already curious based on a flyer

I saw Poison Ruin at Static Shock Weekend a few years ago. didn't know they had a new album out

had a bit of a quiet start to the year but seems to be picking up now - went to 3 punk/hc gigs within a few days of each other - local legends Ikhras, then Flower and JJ & The A's the week after. next weekend I'm going to 2 gigs in London - Crazy Spirit and Kaleidoscope both with great line ups. might go and see the Cosmic Psychos tomorrow night as well

think it's doubtful I'll make that now, am going out dancing tonight now, and I'm going to see Kim Gordon in London on Tuesday, so I think Sunday is going to be a day of rest after all

I did see the Cosmic Psychos at the same venue last year or I would definitely have got a ticket for that too

been a great weekend in London - unfortunately one of the bands I wanted to see the most, Spanish band called Lame had member(s) turned away at immigration, fucking Brexit. good to see Crazy Spirit last night who I didn't see first time round but Kaleidoscope absolutely stole the weekend tonight. Shakti, Rat Cage and especially Stingray were great too, I've seen Stingray a few times and like them a lot but they really seemed to invoke the spirit of Anti-Cimex tonight
