I've been trying to look for good goth/instrumental music; where should I start?

Is there even such a thing as instrumental goth? I mean, there's just GOTTA be...

"Carnage Visors" by the Cure.

uh, BRAHMS?

how do you define Goth?

Clan of Xymox did some great instrumentals on their early albums.

Or could Goth stretch to embrace pepole like Nurse With Wound / Coil / Current 93 who could provide everything from tapeloop noise collages to folky instrumentals to dark ambient electronica?

the 'trudge+ceremonial' cd by savage republic could almost, kinda, sorta count.

in the nursery? maybe? i don't now, i need some specificity.

speaking of UR-goth, there's always the third movement of Ludwig vanvan's Seventh to be reckoned with (MASSIVE!)

and once we're in this, uh, grey area -- has the ur-punkness of Wolfgang Amadeus's Dies Irae, from Requiem, ever been mentioned on this list?

chopin - yeah, more often than not
rachmaninoff - maybe
tchaikovsky - oh no, that'd be too sweeping a generalisation

Plenty of obvious stuff of course; Dead Can Dance, Victorialand-era Cocteau Twins, various intrumentals by Cure/Chameleons/Depeche Mode...
