was just having a sconse at the will oldham site at http://users.bart.nl/~ljmeijer/oldham/news.htm
when i came across this in the news section
"•The same Monitor newsletter says that Will has told about an amazing experience recording "Can't Take That Away (mariah's theme)" with Buddha Monk (from Wu Tang and O.D.B )with Ian "lock it on" Williams on guitar. (more info seems to follow..)The song is a cover from Mariah Carey's album "Rainbow" from 1999."

does anyone know any more about this?
can't find anything else on google, never heard of buddha monk but that doesn't mean anything, the wu tang clan seems to be getting bigger by the day...
could this song finally unite everyone on ilm?
after all,who couldn't find something to enjoy in will oldham and one of the wu tang covering a mariah carey song?
anyone heard it?
etcetc

I guess I could ask Ian when I see his new band Debut Battles on Thursday, although it sounds kinda far-fetched to me.

Isn't Buddah Monk on the JSBX remix album? There's your indie credentials.

Isn't Buddah Monk on the JSBX remix album?

An older one had Killah Priest.

No, that's the one. Buddah Monk/Killah Priest - You see how mistakes like this happen.

imagine the conversations!
dunno if anyone read the recent observer interview with will oldham, but he comes across as one of the more introverted individuals in music today....could be the most awkward situation involving the wu-tang since hank kingsley proclaimed his love for shame on a nigga...
