...so how does that make it any different than every OTHER single the most overrated by far band of the past decade has ever made? huh??

I think that's a ridiculous overstatement. I can think of at least half-a-dozen bands that were far more overrated than the Foo Fighter, not least among them Nirvana.

Every time I hear this, I think of "Add It Up" on the first Violent Femmes album and it's driving me insane.

It's really weird, like Dave took the song, pulled out parts of it at random and threw them together with a new chorus. The resemblance is so strong, I've begun to think it's a conscious tribute to them. Does anyone know?

i think they generally have a decent track record with singles, but man this is bad. it's just so....loooong. i mean, christ. by the time he's screaming "DONE! DONE!" it feels like an endurance trial. surely at least a third of it could've been trimmed without being missed. and it's just a crappy single. might work as an album track, though, but blah.

I like "All My Life", but Al has a point - it seems awfully long for a song that is four and a half minutes. I haven't heard the rest of their new record, but I'm glad that the first single is good, because I wasn't crazy about the singles off of the last record. There's some very good songs on those first two albums, for sure.
