In 6 days I'm gonna have a Korg MS2000. Who's jealous?

Yeah yeah, I know. I'm a dick. But that's okay because in 6 days I will say nothing to anybody unless it's been 16-band vocoded. Wurd.

A dick and a dork, I meant to say.

Is that some kind of synth? Because if it is then I'm pretty jealous, but not on as many levels as somebody who properly understands this sort of thing.

It's all cool. You keep being married and paying that rent, I'll be saving up for an Access Virus in a few months, or a trip to LA for ATP by Matt Groening (featuring all those bands that kick the ass).

Oh, and what happens if I take back my sampler? You can vocode all you want over the top of some dr. rhythms. You have fun with that. Thppt.

Oh, and does anybody know of any good rehearsal space in the DC area? Thanks.

Well, you buy that Access Virus, Tom, and, um, get bored with it so I can borrow it for like 8 months, and then WHO'S ON TOP! BOO-YAH!

...ehh. Don't take back the sampler, man, I'm just about to get my set-up together. I know, the beats I put together on it are corny and cliche'd, but I NEED it right now.

You can take back the joystick synth and the ER1 though, I can't do a damn thing with'em. I guess I need to read the manuals or something. I work way less efficiently with buttons and LEDS than I do with frets and pedals.

I was in the synth room at Guitar Center the other day and almost wet myself. I spent a solid hour just messing with all the settings, producing the weirdest sounds I could, which prompted a passing black man to say, "Shit nigga, that's the shit right there" (I swear I'm not making that up).

From across the room I spotted a man who looked almost exactly like one of the members of Styx who seemed to be a synth master. No words were exachanged between us, but silently we both knew it: it was a synth-off. We each took turns churning out crazy Korg-sound, one after the other. I don't know if there was a clean winner, but God, I need the money to buy one of those. Actually all of them, I want them all.

Passing black men saying complimentary things in their cute little vernacular = TOTAL CLASSIC.

It is a cool box, very Juan Atkins. If I was still using hardware I would definitely pick one of these up. It is one of the best sounding VA's on the market(and the best IMHO.)

I used to have a Virus B, but I sold it awhile back. It was a cool board, but definitely not the least bit analogue. I found that I used it more for really aggressive and cold sounds. It seems very Pan Sonic to me. I was doing a lot of harsh minimal ambient when I owned it. It never really was lush, but it was always hard and in your face. I miss it, but not that much.

Now Native Instruments FM7; that's some shit right there!

Sssshhhh my poor little SU10 might hear you!
She has little enough confidence as it is.

In the years to come, humans will be retrofitted with built-in vocoders, and Korg will OWNZ US ALL!!!!!

Anyway, sweet dude. I've played one of those MS2000s for about 3 hours straight once, I've never been satisfied with my own synths since.

Well, starting about 16 months ago I started dropping hints (like talking about how cool it would be to have a Korg MS2000 every hour or so whenever the wife was around) and then my wife and folks got together, each put in half, and ordered it from Musician's Friend. It's supposed tobe a suprise, but when I was talking on the phone with my little brother a few weeks ago he said something like, "Don't buy a microkorg. You got an MS2000 waiting in my closet. Fucking mom and dad won't let me play with it." then he told me the rest of the story.
